learning from a robin ...

this morning, just before leaving for work, i watched a robin busily gathering dry grass for it's nest ... another robin seemed to be standing guard - perched on the clothes line - keeping an eye out for hungry cats ...

the picture of that robin stayed with me all day ... it was a calming picture ... a little homemaker in action ...

and God has His eye on the robin ... and God has His eye on you and me ...

His Eye is on the Sparrow
Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Refrain

I sing because I’m happy,
I sing because I’m free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

“Let not your heart be troubled,” His tender word I hear,
And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears;
Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Refrain

Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,
When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies,
I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Refrain

A lovely song...I can hear George Beverly Shea singing it in my mind's eye!! Really does make one wonder just how God views every single event on this earth? I love the verse in Psalms about our tears being kept in HIS bottle too...really lets us know even our emotions are important to HIM!!

Hi Saija...I love that hymn with you...smile. We are back from our trip and it was so much fun. My hubby decided to spit the ride down, so we went 4 hours and stayed overnight at at motel, so the trip down was so much easier...coming home..well...what can't be cured must be endured..smile. I'm just staying a minute to catch up on your blog. Hope your getting back to work goes smoothly and your boss makes life as easy for you as possible. *hugs*
