the smile is back ...

my dental work went well ... yay!!! .... the old injured tooth got pulled, and it didn't hurt a bit! ... now i have a temporary bridge ... my dentist did a good job ... it looks normal when i smile ...

i am so glad that is DONE ... this first stage of it and the worst stage, since there was that *lovely* extraction to contend with ...

just think of all the years i've had work done on this ONE single front tooth ... and it all started with a playground accident when that boy directed his yo/yo towards me and chipped it ...

sometimes life is like that ... things happen that aren't our fault, yet we still have to deal with the consequences ... and it could be years or decades of fall-out over that one single event ...

the purpose? i don't know ... maybe to give empathy for others as they suffer far far worse things ... maybe to teach patience ... it could be many many reasons ... or no reason that i would understand at this point ...

i do believe nothing is trivial in God's eyes ... even a little 8 year old girl's chipped tooth ...

think of the things you don't get that you don't want.

Dear Saija...My! That dentist even changed your looks, eh? Well even if your teeth do look and feel better, I prefer the blond Saija that we are so used to!

Good Night..God's Blessing... Love Terry

Ohhh, I'm so glad the dental work went well. It's just never graceful or comfortable sitting in that chair with your mouth open. From the sounds of it, you've had to do that quite a bit over the years, eh?

(hugs)

Oh...I am glad the worst is over for you. Yes, how well we understand such events. My youngest will visit the chiropractor from time to time, likely the rest of her life, due to a mean idiot of a kid who slammed down a big teeter totter with lots of kids on it and my daughter was slammed to the ground so hard it damaged her tailbone and knocked the air out of her. Of course, no money has ever crossed our palm, much less sympathy from the lousy mom of that kid...some days in life we so wish we had simply stayed home in bed! But that is life on this earth and sometimes we are injured as children and get to suffer the rest of our lives. My other 2 children carry injuries from their childhood as well...argh! Blessings on you for better days ahead however...sounds like you are pleased with the work the dentist did for you.

Yay! I'm so glad to hear that the initial dental work went well and didn't hurt! Step two should be a breeze. :)

Saija--I'm so glad that things went well! I'll keep praying that things will continue to go surprisingly well, too, in the next few weeks.... (annoying little kid with the yo-yo, anyway.....heh....). Thanks for your comment at my blog--you are blessed that your weather is cooling a bit! Blessings, Debra

terry ... you prefer the imperfect saija, rather than the model look? cool! :o) blessings to you ...

jeanette ... ya, i've spent a small fortune at the dentists! i guess someone has to, right? ... i heard it's cooled off in your area? yikes, that heat is really a hot topic (oops!) ...

elizabeth ... the same thing happened to leo and he still thinks that is where his back problems originated - back at the tetter totters! sheesh, eh ...

catherin ... yay for sure! i just hope it heals in 4 weeks so that my dental insurance covers it before i am layed-off ... always something, huh? :o?

debra ... awwww, poor you re the heat ... that really is dangerous stuff for the elderly and people that work outside ... we had such a lovely cool day today - i washed windows and went for a bike ride! ... as i said, i'm sending some of it your way ... blessings backatcha!

The chiropractor told us that we will not know for sure the full impact of her injury till in childbirth...it might refuse to move then as it is supposed to do. I am sorry Leo too was injured like this...hope they will be able to help him someday!! Sounds like that is a toy that ought to be outlawed. Some days begin in disasterous ways...my husband went and got his grandmother and brought her (she lived in a town about an hour from us)...and she knew no one but us and my husband insisted on going to the church picnic where we hardly knew anyone ourselves. They mostly let us sit alone anyway..and when we allowed the kids to go off and play together...then this! If only I knew then what I do now...if things do not feel right, then don't do them. I was obligated to kind of "take care of grandma" instead of watching my kids closer. MEN!!

Oh, great :) My brother had an accident while playing ice hockey - I think he was about 15 years old. Both his front teeth snapped, only short stubs remained in place. For years he had silver coloured shells on them, because at that time there was nothing else available.

It's impossible to protect our kids from accidents - it would mean locking them into a padded barrel, and still they'd get hurt. If not physically, then mentally :S

Enjoy your smile :)

elizabeth ... i know, the "should have's" in life can drive us crazy! ... i *try* (note emphasis on TRY!) to focus on the fact that God has a plan for each of us, it's a good plan and He knows the ins and outs ... even mishaps can shape us into the kind of people He wants us to be ... i guess that is why we are compared to clay - and He the Potter ... lots of things we just don't understand this side of heaven ... but one heavenly day - it will be revealed ...

eija ... i had a silver tooth as well! :o) ... for almost 3 years ... i didn't want to smile and it made me shy (we moved around alot too - meeting new people with a silver tooth made me self-conscious) ... but in later years it also made me sensitive to the new people around me, and i tried to make them feel comfortable and welcome ... God can and does use everything for our good if we let Him ... blessings on your day!
