a new doctor - we hope!

anybody with any sort of chronic problem, shudders, just shudders - at the thought of being without a doctor ...

leo is without a doctor ...

his family physician suddenly gave up his practice ... we hoped that the remaining partner would take leo on ... but yesterday, when we went to see him - he said "nope" ... "good luck" ...

uh ... ok?

sigh ...

we do have an appointment to see another new doctor ... the appointment is on thursday ... so if you think of leo, would you please pray that he hits it off with this fellah ... and that the doctor wouldn't be afraid to take on someone with chronic pain and a long list of meds that are required ...

a friend shared this thought with me ... " living by faith sometimes means walking in the dark, it never means living without a light" ...

Jesus lights our way ... one step at a time ...

A new doctor can be a scary thing. Sometimes a new start can also be a good thing. I will pray that this will be so, seeing the doctor can be such a drain -- multiple interviews for Leo wouldn't be a good thing, hopefully just the one will be all he needs. (sigh)

Lord, give us hope and a doctor in the know. :)

will do :)

and I like that thought!

oh and is your e-mail working?

Jammie said exactly what I was thinking: Maybe this turns out to be a good thing and Leo gets a better doctor than the previous one!

Praying so.

jeanette ... yes, it's the multipe interviews and the "please hurry and fill this LIST meds before they run out ... " type of situation ... leo and i keep encouraging each other with reminders of the many unexpected answers to prayer that have recently met the obstacles in our walk ... so we're hoping that this obstacle turns into "a good thing" like you said ... thanks for the prayer!

jel ... thank you! ... and yes, my e-mail is working: saija_p@yahoo.com ... :o)

eija ... that's what i was hoping too - that leo gets a doctor who may be more informed ... thank you for praying!

Saija,
I'm so sorry Leo lost his doctor; I thought ethically doctors had a responsibility to refer their regular patients to a new physician? I guess I was wrong. I will keep Leo in my prayers for finding another M.D.
Love,
Maureen

Yeah, I know what you mean, Saija. One of Roger's docs (not for his pain, though) had to give up his practice a few months back. He has cancer; so sad. Fortunately one of the other partners took over Roger's care.

It can be scary for sure. Your friend shared a very encouraging thought.

Praying for you guys.

A new doctor can be a scary experience, thank God you have the comfort and leading of the Holy Spirit in your life.

Doctors typically do not take a lot of time w/patients any more. Stress to the new doctor that giving a thorough history of problems/treatments is very important to you. If the doc sits and listens to your story w/few interruptions, if he says he needs some time to review all prior medical records, if he does NOT try to give you a quick fix, then he just might be worth trying out.

I will be praying for you on Thursday. My husband has a doctor's appointment that day too. Praying will be a fruitful way to spend the time in the waiting room.

Wishing you the best in finding a good one! We have not had an easy time finding one to really "fit" us either. Being sick right now, guess I have to go back to the regular guy tomorrow. Sigh...oh well, could be worse. Blessings on your search!!

maureen ... ethically i think do too ... but? i guess they have a right to refuse a patient if their practise is too large - i think that is what may have happened ...

gayla ... i went to bed at 9 last night, after becoming grumpy ... i figured i was overtired with the "doing" again ... i need to learn and learn and learn to LEAVE it with the Lord ... now it is early a.m., the road condidtions for our 25 mile drive are "poor driving conditions" because of drifting snow ... ? ... whatcha gonna do eh ... fight the good fight, i guess!

pt ... thank you for that ... i'm just hoping that this young doctor is eager to learn about chronic pain cases - leo's would be a great case study ... your prayer is so very much appreciated!

susie ... i've worked for physicians too - and i know how leary they are to trust anyone with a story ... usually chronic pain patients mean paperwork!

elizabeth ... thank you, hope you are feeling better soon!
