the sunrise in my world ...

tuesday morning i awoke at 5:25 a.m. to bits of light filtering through the bedroom window ... i felt this nudge within me to go see what kind of sunrise the day held ... i had felt that same call monday too, but slept instead ...

but tuesday i said "ok Lord, i'll go take a peek" ... i stumbled into my clothes and went to the living room ... i opened one set of venetians and said "HOLY COW!" ... there was this red, fireball of a sun, just starting it's morning journey in the sky ...

i ran for my camera, slid into my sandals - then started the mad dash to the beach ... the flip-flop flip-flop noise i was making, echoed in the still morning street ...

i was at the beach in 20 seconds ... and what i saw amazed my senses! God's creation IS awesome! ... the breath-taking view was all mine to enjoy ... and i was glad glad glad to have gotten out of bed ... i would have missed this perfect sunrise!

just sharing a few photo's with you ... i took 60 in total ... but i'm sure i could have easily taken 600 ...

hope you can see a little of that "WOW" factor i saw ... and may it bless your senses as well!

mari ... well that's a perfect psalm for these pics! thank you!

passing thru ... i can always understand why artists paint - when i see God's beauty - just something they try to capture on canvas!

danielle b ... thanks for popping by ... and sunset pics are lovely too!! but the sun doesn't set at our beach - so i couldn't take any there!

it's said if you expose your eyes to bright light shortly after awakening, you'll be fully awake faster. But this, this is just ridiculous. bright light, a morning jog in flip-flips? :P

Beautiful - I think I'm jealous. At least I get to see the beauty through the lens of your camera! I'll take Gods beauty in any form from anyone - it's all awesome! You did a really great job of capturing the ball of sun!

jel ... hope you have a good good weekend!

michael ... :o) ... i should get up that time every morning - but i'll wait for the sunrise to be a bit later!!!!

praynsmtrl ... Yes is "kylla" (pronounced kul-laa), and No is "ei" (pron. eh) ... water is "vesi" (pron. ve-see) and ice is "jaa" (pron. ya) ... ;o)

sabine ... hope you are enjoying your garden!

pat ... the ball was even redder in real life, but it was fun to be out there trying to capture it!!!

cathy ... it felt like i was the only one in the world - at that time of the morning - so i needed the pictures as proof! :o)

tina ... glad it wow'd your heart too ... i was in tears as i snapped pictures, just glorying in the Lord, in my spirit ...

sandy ... i know, to think that this all could have "just happened" - well you need a whole lot of faith to believe that theory!

Haha, you're so funny :D

But this reminds me of Matthew Ward's song "holy, holy, holy" which I call "sunrise music": "And the train of His robe fills the temple with glory..."

Though Lorna keeps teasing me about my sunsets: "knowing you this is a sunset, not a sunrise"... Yeah. I'm not an early bird! Seeing a sunrise would require me not to go to bed at all :D

Saija said...

eija ... :) ... the sunsets are at a side and they are difficult to see ... otherwise, i would go for the sunsets too!!! tho' i'm finding, as i age - i get up earlier!!

Beautiful sun rise! I wish I could get up early some day to catch our sun rise. It's just so hard for me to get up early.

Nice to see people learning Finnish here! :)

Saija said...

antibck ... why thank you! it is lovely here, and if not - i can always crop it out of the picture! hope all is going well with your California summer!

maiju ... i think i should send all those that want to learn finn to your sight! :o) i mean, you are in the teaching profession ... *grin* ... and i like to photograph sunsets too, but they aren't as accessible here as in other places we've lived.

Maiju said...

Saija,

you are wellcome to do that! You have the advantage while you can teach Finnish as a native English speaker. Advices you gave for pronouncing were impressive. I wouldn't have been able to give that. So that much of the professional teaching...:)

Saija said...

maiju ... :o) thank you ... i do speak my finnish with an english accent, because i don't roll my letters anymore ... tho' i think i could get it right if i were in finland for more then just a few weeks!
