this week has had some more summertime R&R moments ... which to me means sauna & swimming & visiting ...
i did get some bad news last week ... i have glacoma starting up in my right eye ... the doc seems to think that a little lazer surgery will help that situation ... so being canadian - i will wait for a few months before i get in for that (since the doctor didn't seem to think it was an urgent case) ... i am glad she spotted the narrowing of the particular area that creates glacoma ...
i have been missing maria lately ... i think that is the way grieving goes ... you miss your loved one more as the weeks go on - until you get used to the fact that they aren't here anymore ...
this pic was taken in april ... during one of her hospital stays ... see her smile - she was always smiling ... her joy despite circumstances - was something everyone who knew her talked about ...
just a little chitchat ... blessings on your new week ...

Glad the Dr found your eye issue - good to catch it early!
I read your intro at the Traveling Scarf and will now have to change my way of thinking. All this time I have been saying your name wrong. I was saying the first part of your name sa - like ha. Glad I've been straightened out!
So glad you have shaken up the blog :)
A sweet remembrance of Maria ... she shall, too, be an honorary Scarf Sister just like Arlene.
Hugs,
That's a great photo of you two! Her smile always struck me in the photos of her that you shared. Just beautiful.
As Mari said, thank goodness your doctor caught the glaucoma early! It sounds like you may have the same surgery I had about four years ago on both eyes. It was a quick procedure and the recovery was not bad at all -- just took a nap when I got home and was fine by evening, then had to put some prescription drops in a few times a day for a week or so. I hope it goes well for you!
Don 't worry Saija with the surgery your glaocome will go away and in Canada you all have good treatment and medicines. Will be praying for your healing and recovery. Can you use some soothing eye drops as you wait for sugery?
Aww...that is such a beautiful photo. Maria is smiling all the more in heaven. Such a brave woman she was to endure all that illness.
Oh I am so glad to know you have accepted the invitation. You have such a sweet and kind spirit, Saija... May God continue to comfort you and give you strength.
Love
Lidj
Even though I didn't get to vote you in, I'm sure happy you're a scarf sistah! I always considered you one anyway...now come to the reunion in Oct and I'll be tickled pink!
Sorry to hear about your eye issue, but what a good thing to have caught it early. I'll keep you in prayer.
Our precious energizer bunny Maria greatly missed. Your right about how we grieving, the way you describe it is exactly what I've gone through with my own parents.
Thanks for the chitchat...loved it!
Dear Saija,
I'm so happy to learn you have become a scarf sister. Those women are great and the sisterhood is such a strong blessing.
After three years, I still miss my dad and talk about him every day.
I think I have come to peace with the fact that my dad is at peace.
The horrible nightmares are slowly diminishing. I praise God for that.
