devotionals

if you are looking for devotionals for 2013 - i thought i would put in a good word for the two devotionals i've used in 2012 ... which have blessed me and stretched my faith outside the box i inadvertently want to keep it in!

A Table in the Wilderness, by Watchman Nee (martyred for his faith in 1972, China) ... and ...  Daily Light for Every Day, scripture compiled by Samuel Bagster (1794) ...

here is a partial reading from A Table in the Wilderness:

"... He never asks us to do anything we can do.  He asks us to live a life we can never live and to do a work we can never do.  Yet by His grace we are living it and doing it.  The life we live is the life of Christ lived in the power of God, and the work we do is the work of Christ carried on through us by His Spirit whom we obey."

This is beautiful, Saija, and true. We really could not do anything without His Spirit and power living and working through us. Our God has done great things for us and through Him we can do things we thought we could not.
I hope you and Leo are having a blessed Christmas season.
Love & Prayers~

I like that way of thinking.
I kind of makes it easier. If I had to manage it by my own, it would have mission impossible. Now I don't have to do anything by my own power, or knowledge. It is fulfilled. The rest of the walk is grace upon grace.

A beautiful post! We received your lovely Christmas card and are enjoyed getting it so much! Thank you Saija... It was a blessing to hear from you and Leo.

Your card will be in the mail in a couple of days. We are ordering picture cards and are a bit late. Walmart online ordering leaves a bit to be desired but there you have it. lol.

Last evening R and( I made pizzelle cookies with our new 'pizzelle' iron. Each one only took 45 seconds! I am gluten free so we made two batches....one without gluten flour and one with. Yum...=)

Warmest wishes for a great Christmas. Your devotional recommendations sound excellent. The poinsetta picture is simply gorgeous!
