2018 in the year of our Lord ...

blessings on your 2018 ... may old dreams be realized and new dreams be found ... and may God be the centre of them all ... 

2018 is almost here ....

it's the in between days ... Christmas tinsel will soon be put away - and the new year will be upon us ... this verse from Philippians 1:6 encourages me to just keep walking in Jesus ... one day it will all be finished and "the day of Christ Jesus" will have begun ...

i like this verse for Christmas ... and i like the colour red at this time of year as well ... because it also stands for the blood shed for us ... another evening when i just needed to make a poster ... thankful that JESUS is the real celebration of this season ... :)

Angels we have heard on high ... tis the season for miracles!

That first Christmas was a miracle ... witnessed first by the poor, meek and unknown of the world ... yet what an impact on history ... what an impact on humanity ... and most amazingly what an individual impact  .. thank you JESUS ... we again await the celebration of Angels singing, as the echoes of mercy have rocked through time and space all these years ... and in eternity to come!

in the days to come ...

God is also a bridge over the chasm that divides us from Him ... the "Way Maker" in our world of trouble ... and the Safe Haven in the days to come ... He IS our Everything!

Thank you to all the men and women who have fought for the freedom of us all ... may the brave hearts in all of us be stirred to stand up for each other ... because we were created in the Image of God - and we should have respect for one another ...

winter's chill ...

it's not quite this bleak here - yet ... the river is still open ... but i can feel the chill of winter starting, as we received our first significant snowfall last night ... i am not a winter person, so each year i need to consciously focus on HIM Who Is my portion ... to be the soul that seeks Him at all times and finds my ALL in Jesus, Who Is my Lord ... and Saviour ...

i took the picture yesterday ... the tamaracks are a beautiful colour at this time of year ... but the cooler weather is definitely on it's way ...  i always need patient endurance for the winter months ...

In fact, it's in the dining room, his bathroom, and several other spots around the house!" Graham began in a Facebook post. i have tried to place verses all around our house too... especially the bathroom (people notice there!!!) ... Jesus lives everywhere in our condo ... and most importantly, we try and make our lives shine for Him ... we do fail, but then we get up - and get on with the task - mindful of the fact that it is Christ who lives in us ...

Seasons change ... God doesn't ... may i be found firm in Jesus ... Lord help me to leave all else behind and stand on that Solid Foundation of FAITH!

i took this picture at the same time as the picture in the previous posting ... just some minutes apart in sunrise and a little bit further down the road ... God is always the same Awesome Amazing God ... but our view is a little bit different from where we are in life, or our age, or a number of things ... but God is always the same ... it's just our limited vision that can be a problem ... 

heavy hearts can be lifted ...

as i read today's headlines ... i thought they sounded remarkably like something out of the bible ... the end times part of the bible, that is ... my heart is at peace because Jesus owns it!  then i thought about the bible saying "men's hearts will be failing them for fear" ... not everyone has the same assurance as a Jesus follower ...  these familiar words came to me - familiar to me, but maybe not to everyone ... a reminder that ANYONE can come to Jesus ... ANYONE ... repent and believe in Him, before it is too late ... heed the signs ... BELIEVE in the ONE who died and rose again ... Jesus ... the One and Only ...

no need to fret ...

i took this picture yesterday of the smoke covered sun, starting to set in our backyard ...   it reminded me of my desire to begin each day with the knowledge that Jesus is in control ... and end each day, thanking Him for all the blessings ... there is no need to fret before or after - God is still on His throne and works everything out - 

to His good purpose ...

yup, i'm in the poster making mode!!! i just can't seem to help myself!!!  LOL!!!   it's just that this verse sort of burst in my brain! it was on the front page of a memorial to a pastor friend (his funeral was yesterday) ... it kept spinning in my head ... so much truth in it!  i had to put it on a poster ...   

p.s. Proverbs is a fantastic book to read for these types of Words ... 

forgiveness ...

we receive forgiveness freely ... it is the gift of God ...

 so we should forgive others, which is our reasonable service. 

just thinking outloud ... about God's keeping power ...

picture taken from the plane window on the descent to Iceland's airport ... the quote was in the daily bread devotional from the other day ... just reminded me of the wicked weather in Iceland both times (coming and going) but i had faith in the pilot's abilities ... shouldn't i have EVEN MORE faith in God's ability to take care of me, even through the storms of life ... just thinking outloud ...

you know the answer as well as i do ... we can NEVER hide from Almighty God!  He will always know where we are ... this is wonderful if we are in tune with Him and want Him to be there ... not so wonderful if we are on the run from Him, going in our own direction ...

Billy Graham quote ... timely ...

i heard this quote today ... from a billy graham sermon ... i quickly wrote it down and then made this poster ... i like to make these posters so that i can come back to the thought - and hopefully learn something from the wisdom of others ... 

the storm ...

i came across this verse yesterday, and i thought of making a poster ... but i didn't ... then a mini storm rocked my boat later in the day ... i was happy for the words in the Psalm, and i decided that the poster needed to be made today!  may it reassure you, to know that Jesus is always in control of any situation ... 

Praise HIM anyway!

praising God can be difficult some days ... 
yet, praising God lifts the difficult out of the day!

it is not too late ... while there is still today - get right with God ... i am always amazed how patient He is with me ... how He shows me His love in a personal way, that only I would recognize ... and He can be that to you as well ... don't wait - one day the day will end  ... and the Son will have come ... make your today count for Jesus ...

as i was admiring the Toronto skyline last week, a seagull decided to make an appearance in the picture i was taking ... i didn't know it was there until i checked my pictures at home ... cool ... when things like this happen to me, i smile and think that it's the Spirit that moves and makes His Presence known ...

i was out, enjoying God's creation in the U.P. - Michigan... lovely!!!  this photo taken in Mackinaw City ... 

Because He lives ...

 tearfully listening to Because He Lives  ...it was being done with such conviction by 2 women who are living  with chronic pain and many many other disabilities ... the words to that old hymn became a victory celebration of sorts ... they were not being swallowed up by their problems - but rather giving Praise to God because HE lives and is giving them the strength for each day ... sometimes  you just gotta have those tears of gratitude to our all powerful God - despite life's sorrows ..

Jesus words encourage us today ... even as they have throughout the centuries ... so live as an overcomer, since Jesus has already done the work for us ...

Easter in Finland was a wonderful experience ... celebrations of Jesus life were found everywhere ... i felt blessed ...

lately i see dear ones who once loved the LORD, floundering ... they speak like those without HOPE ... thinking that this life we live is it ... that there isn't an eternal life to come ... so i want to remind those who are kept by Jesus' saving power - that death is only an open door, one that allows us to be in the Presence of HIM who died to REDEEM us ... check your heart - why are you down?  Isn't Jesus the same today, as He was yesterday and will be tomorrow?  and the life we live today is lived by the power He gives to us ... plug into it ... rely on HIM - the Saviour of our souls ... 

God is working ...

don't despair, dear one ... though you may not see Him ... He is always there ... always with our best in mind ...

In my morning devotions, I read this verse:  "the name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." ... I noticed a note i had written in the margin  -  "the "righteous" know where to run!" .... 

Yup ... Praise the Lord that we DO know to Whom we can go!

it all seemed so real ...

I had a dream …

Jesus was coming … it was some sort of “catching up” … I saw people disappearing and I could feel the pull from heaven to leave, it was time .. I was ready to go be with Jesus … I was in a large house which seemed small … there was a long, dark, narrow hallway … I was passing through it on my way to Him … but as I started down the hallway and towards Jesus, movement in a room i passed caught my eye … it was a small room with very little light in it … bare, with no furnishings and the tones were all dark and not appealing at all … there were some people huddled in the corner of the room … they did not want to leave … i could feel their hostility and fear … whoever they were, I wanted to reach out to them in love and concern … I stopped and said: "Jesus is here and He is calling for me to come … He wants  you to come too" … I tried to get them to follow me out of that dark place … I knew I had only moments before Jesus took me and i didn’t want them left behind … 

Then … I woke up … I don’t know what happened next … but I do know that  Jesus will return at some point in history … whether He gives a shout for us to meet in heaven ... or whether I die and leave earth the natural way … one day - there will be an end to our lives … NO  ESCAPING  THAT REALITY … 

Were you the ones I saw huddled in that familiar corner, not wanting to leave it’s seeming comfort … please consider Jesus and His offer of life … if I am wrong about this faith of mine, I have lost nothing … but if you do not know Jesus and you ignore such a great gift of salvation, you have lost everything for all eternity …  choose Jesus ... before your choice is taken away.
