yes, i am still excited about having high speed and the ability to check out websites that load with the click of a mouse ... i'm a simple soul it seems! it doesn't take much to make me happy ... i'm content with what i have! especially now that high speed is part of the having ... *smiling, shaking head* ...
did you watch the oscars last night?
i watched it and was 65% entertained by it all ... the show was l-o-n-g, as usual ... it did give this country mouse a little glimpse into a totally different lifestyle ... i enjoyed the old hollywood look of elegance ... though the amounts of money displayed in hair, make-up, clothing, gift bags - i cannot fathom being spent in one evening ...
in our real world - it snowed ... everything is covered and brilliantly white ... i had my morning devotions with a world so clean and bright, i should have worn sunglasses! only thing bad about this brightness, it shows the dust bunnies and their hiding places ... sigh ... i best get to it ...
blessings on your monday and week!

afternoon chitchat ... i went out to shovel and after about 10 minutes i ended up with the shovel handle in one hand and the scoop part stuck in the snow! ... oh oh ... time to quite shovelling i guess!
did i mention that leo and i are reading "The Purpose Drive Life" by Rick Warren? we must be the last people in North America to read this wildly popular book ... we will try to keep to the chapter a day schedule ... we started on March 1st ... it really is an excellent read!

I like your style!! Heehee...cute cartoon! Have fun cleaning...it is what I MUST get to around here too...tending sickies does take a lot of energy out of me...but then most any cleaning is not what I love to do, quite frankly...too much other fun things to do, like chat with internet friends! HA!
Blessings on your day!
elizabeth ... well instead of chasing dust bunnnies, i went out to scoop snow ... and would you believe the scoop broke! there i was with the handle in my hand and the scoop pushed into a snowbank!
Nah...you are not the last ones to read that book...I too kind of rebell against always having to jump on the "latest bandwagon"!! I still like to think ALL we REALLY need, we have had for centuries...the Bible...most people spend far too little time there in comparison to other books! I think the problems of the church world would basically disappear if all they did was study THE BOOK and apply it totally! But I think that is not going to happen...prophecy will be fulfilled...in due time.
Blessings on your day today too!
jojo ... it is actually a very good book ... it encourages memorizing scripture, looking honestly at oneself through what God's word says ... so far, a very thought provoking read! :o)
susie ... i think you're on to something with the gift bags ... maybe if they made a nice big cheque out to the charity of choice - that would be much more satisfying to everyone!
elizabeth ... the bible is absolutely THE ONLY roadmap to Christian living ... but that said, the Purpose Driven life does uplift God's word, encourages memorizing it and tries to point to victorius living by following the bible ... maybe that is why so many have read it ... so far, i'm learning "stuff" about myself!
I have to side with Elizabeth and Jojo on the book. From we are truly searching for God's Word, the Bible is all we need, not someone else opinions and/or ideas. I'm not one to jump on the bandwagon either, though I did go to one Purpose meeting, read some of the book, and something deep down told me to leave it alone. I listen to my gut feelings because I feel that they are God talking to me. If you check out the book you will see that Rick Warren never mentions God's purpose for us. He's a me, myself, and I teacher IMHO. What I refer to as the unholy trinity.
Dawn ... i tend to do the same as you, to follow my gut about books and authors ... and sometimes it is timing for reading certain books or even certain parts of the bible ... the Lord speaks to all of us in His own time and way ... blessings ...
have not been able to stick to purpose driven life
friar tuck ... maybe it's not the book for you at this time? but at least we are blessed with so much good reading out there! what a wonderful time to be living in!
