johnny hart, the creator of the BC comic strip died the other day ... apparently he died at his storyboard - still doing the job he enjoyed, making others laugh and also trying to get folks to "think on these things" ...
i was quite surprised when he went against the grain and drew comics that talked about God, creation and even - dare i say it - the life of Christ ... which also included the death & resurrection ...
i applaud one man's mark on our pop culture ... and one man's efforts to make people think about who JESUS was ... who JESUS is ...
rest in peace, johnny hart ...

I was sad to read of his passing, but happy for him that he died while doing what he loved. And he definitely left his mark on the world. :)
Wow! I loved that cartoune pic! We should show more of our christianity in a modern way.
Saija,,,I believe that man must of surely been saved!!..Love Terry
Great post. Yes, he will be surely missed.
I am sure he must be in heaven now hearing," Enter in thou, good and faithful servant" That is a real loss for the world. connie from Texas
What a great loss...
amen!
catherine ... i thought that the way he died was so appropriate ... i mean, to be able to work at something you love - and do it until the day you die - well that is a BONUS!
maiju ... and even tho' he did get critisized and he lost some work because of it - he still kept the message in his art ... i admired that ...
terry ... i think so too ...
c.h.green ... i hear that his family will continue the comic strip, since he had lots of work stored up ...
connie ... yes - to remain faithful in whatever God calls us to do - that is a life lived well ...
pat ... amen ...
tina ... yes, indeed!
I did not know he passed away. That shows you how much news I watch...NOT much at all if I can help it that is... He was good so good at what he did. Thanks for reminding us..Sandy
sandy ... i heard it on the morning radio news, then did an internet search because that was the only place i heard it ... i found an AP press release ... maybe it is still being held against johnny hart re his public stand for Christ ...
I actually saw the story on Yahoo's front page the day after he died, and it stayed on the front page for a day or two.
catherine ... i'm glad they did that - he really did walk to the beat of his own drummer ... :o)
