poor leo had another fever yesterday ... it arrived at 4:30 a.m. ... first it started with him being cold/shivering/shaking - then the fever just HIT ... :o( ... so i was up with him ... of course this was another inventory day at the library for me ... i didn't want to leave them at work with one person short - but if leo's fever didn't go down, i would have no choice ...
i was rolling my eyes, thinking sheesh!
i had left the salt mines in the park because it was too far to come home and check on leo when he got sick ... now i'm 2 streets away and it's still too far!! ... sigh ...
plus we haven't been to the new doctor yet, so i was feeling a little "lost" ... but thankfully, the fever went down some what, and i did go to work and the inventory did get done ... i only have about 6 weeks left at the library - then over the summer, leo and i will re-evaluate my little library job ... you see, when leo gets sick like this, he's really not able to take care of himself ...
we DO trust that God knows all about these mystery fevers and about work schedules, etc etc ... and He always sends encouragement our way ... let me share how the Lord did it this time ...

i was doing shelving & scanning - feeling tired and even cranky, thinking about Leo at home alone ... one of the books i was handling had a bookmarker in it ... i didn't pull it out right away ... but about 20 minutes later, i was shelving that particular book and again noticed the bookmark ... this time i did pull it out ... and guess what? it turned out to be a christian bookmark (see the pic) with a verse ... the verse said "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." Romans 12:12 ... that made me smile ... i love those little coincidences that the Lord arranges to cheer my flagging spirits ... and to encourage me to HOPE, be JOYFUL and keep PRAYING!!!
just sharing ... and sending blessings your way too ...

Not such a coincidence when God knows what we need before we need it - and your need today was encouragement. The person who left the book mark may not have known she would be HIS tool when she retuned that book. I believe the rest of your needs will also be met just as sweetly!
My favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11. We can still trust that even though we don't understand the yucky stuff that seems to be part of the plan. Jackie
Oh, Saija, I'm sorry about Leo's fever and your concerns. One of my friends left a comment today saying "There are no accidents when God is in a matter." She was talking about something on her post that God had orchestrated. I thought it was a great comment. And it pertains to you and the bookmark! I hope Leo feels better soon.
This coping with illness is so hard, whether in ourselves or one we love. My daughter yet at home with us, is having an awful time. She has missed a lot of work in recent months...one wonders if the job will hold or not. But in all of this, the FATHER is still at work, but not always easy to see it. Even FEVERS are a hard thing, we have that here too!! Blessings on you and Leo...from your fellow travelers!
Elizabeth
Dear Saija,
hope you'll have a new portion of His Grace today. Please do not upset your visit to the new doc. He needs to learn to know you, and probably will turn out to be of some help.
God bless you, sister of mine.

It is so wonderful to see God at Work in our lives...
when you needed encouragement...it was there for you..He lowered the fever so you could go to the library..He directed you to the Bookmark, so you could read the encouraging verse...and He will help you decide what to do about your job when the time comes...I love this reminder that God is always with us!!
Love,
Mimi
P.S.

My heart and my prayers go out for the 2 of you. Tough decisions. So wonderful the way God reminded you He was there and knew and cared!!!

I'm so sorry Leo's not feeling good, but I hae a big smile on my face about a God who arranged for a bookmark to be right where you would see it, when you needed it!
I hope your husband is feeling much better and I'm saddened to read that he was/is sick. Illness is always draining, even to the caretaker. It is cheering to read how the Lord encouraged you at work. I've been working away at the 1000 piece puzzle I set up. I stupidly wrote on the cover of the box.'fun & easy'. You can guess the rest of the story! Fun & easy my eye...grin. My left eye is now taken on some eye strain. I'm going to stick to 300 piece-ers when possible. No pics for you yet. I'll get over to son's house eventually! Its a lazy day here for me, not that I mind...=). Take care, how I hope things will be on the mend with Leo. We will pray.
I'll be praying for both you and Leo. God winks are very precious and I love how they come right on time.
nice one :)
thank you dear blog buds - for your prayer and concern ... :o) ... that lifts my spirits ... and the sweet comments make my day!
leo is feeling better again ... just weak from that fever ... last fall when he had all kinds of tests done, the doctor couldn't say exactly why the fevers come and go ... ? ... one of those weird things make up leo's chronic illness walk ...
blessings sent your way!!!!
Hope Leo is feeling better. God speaks to us in surprising ways
