mid week note

i've been bumping into psalm 23 all week ... i found this wonderful little poster that seems to cover much ground with few words and a simple picture ... plus there is greenery to look at ... *smile* ... yup, this is definitely the time of year that i long for colour ...

it's also the time of year that i go into my shell ... getting ready for rebirth? for spring? maybe ...

my sister maria's birthday is just around the corner ... on march 10th ... she is hoping to be home for that day ... but she hasn't been able to walk the hallway yet, so we'll see ... plus she still has that nasty hospital bug that put her in isolation ... but as always, God amazes my unbelief with signs and wonders ...

time to go think of green pastures ... and lying down ... and rest ...

blessings on those who pass by this way ...

I long to see some green too. I love the way a new mown lawn smells...it won't be long!
I'm already starting to celebrate Maria's birthday, the Lord has brought her a long way.
We are all in need of those green pastures to rest our souls, and let Him renew us with his love and mercy.

Dear Saija,
I am still praying for Maria and understand that these are hard times for the whole family.

My little wonder of today: You know I believe in praying about everything. I always have done that.
From yesterday there was no sound in our TV, good picture, good DVD sound, but no direct TV sound.
Gunnar spent hours trying to fix it, and he is a handyman, repairs computers, cars, anything.
Not this TV.
About sevenish this evening I tryed once more to see the news. No sound.
I did the only thing we hadn't tried, I prayed. Said ,"Jesus, I'm going to pull the TV plug out and set it in, and if the TV works, I know you have been here, fixing it."
I've never talked to Jesus like that. You know what happened; the next moment it sounded loud and clear.
I cried for Gunnar, he was speaking with Serina on the cellphone.
They both witnessed the wonder.

Oh, I know he has been by my side supporting and helping all of my life.
And I thank him for it.

The TV wasn't that important. Jesus was and is.

What a cute picture of Maria at age 13 :) The Lord has certainly got some plans for your sister. I do pray that she is comforted by His presence and the love and support of her siblings/family. I too long to see some green in the pasture!

Hugs

Ohhh, I had forgotten about your tortoise tendencies (hibernation, into your shell). :)

Did I ever tell you I used to have a tortoise way back in 1995? She used to hibernate every winter (such as winter is in California). When springtime came she was always so hungry. So I figured the only way to get her out of her shell was to feed her. :)

I hope Maria continues to improve, my thoughts and prayers are with her and your family.

With God, all things are possible...good for Maria, trying to get home for her Birthday...oh, I hope she get too! About Psalm 23...isn't it wonderful?!! Once years ago, I had major surgery and was quite worried over it. The surgery went well and Ps.23 brought me such comfort in my recovery as I realized God had brought me through it and I was then beside the still waters to rest. Who is like unto our God! He is altogether wonderful. I am tuckered out after our busy week...such challenges we received...things to chew on and pray over...for sure. So you hibernate a bit....I too often retreat. Just being at home is so restful and to have good books of various sorts on hand...there's something unsettling (& welcome...but) about the changing of the seasons I find. Those who are sensitive to it sort of do a 'retreat' why I wonder? Yet spring is fickle..promising sunny days and then can nip you in the pants with damp and rain....and spirits can fall as fast as they were happily afloat....Me anyway. Do you mind a book for a comment? lol....hugs from me.

I pray that Maria has a restful birthday surroundedby love and warmth.
I got this a while back:
The 23rd Psalm - Applied

The Lord is my Shepherd - THAT'S RELATIONSHIP!
I shall not want - THAT'S SUPPLY!
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures - THAT'S REST!
He leadeth me beside still waters - THAT'S REFRESHMENT!
He restoreth my soul - THAT'S HEALING!
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness - THAT'S GUIDANCE!
For His Name's sake - THAT'S PURPOSE!
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death - THAT'S TESTING!
I will fear no evil - THAT'S PROTECTION!
For Thou are with me - THAT'S FAITHFULNESS!
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me - THAT'S DISCIPLINE!
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies - THAT'S HOPE!
Thou anointest my head with oil - THAT'S CONSECRATION!
My cup runneth over - THAT'S ABUNDANCE!
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life - THAT'S BLESSING!
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord - THAT'S SECURITY!
Forever - THAT'S ETERNITY!

Love the poster!

I hope that Maria gets her birthday wish.

My dad's birthday is tomorrow -- sort of a bittersweet day for us now. He shared a birthday with my brother, who would be turning 40 tomorrow if he were still with us.
