update ...

this post will make more sense, if you read the previous one first ...

UPDATE on maria:

they sure move fast at this other hospital ... they have sedated maria for a few days, maybe longer, so that they can do the necessary tests on her without increasing her anxiety levels (she remains quite stressed and even fearful) ... they've already done the angiogram ... they know the mitral valve is infected ... they have the antibiotic IV drip going ... 24 hour dialysis ... intubation ... and the surgeon has given her a 50/50 chance ... which really is quite good, considering the weakened state of her body ...

her husband was with her before she was sedated ... and she also got to see one of our cousins (maria is 44 and this particular cousin is close to that age) - who has been her lifelong friend ... i was thanking the Lord for His kindness in giving maria a dear face, of a long loved friend - to look at before going under ... this cousin works at the hospital, and will have access to freely see maria ... which makes us all relieved ...

thank you for your prayer ... maria is now a sleeping beauty for a few days ... if folks dream under sedation, may those dreams be sweet and trouble free ...

I pray that this sleep will be a sleep of renewal, and that the Lord is easing her fears . How wonderful to have a loving family member able to be there on a daily basis. God provides.

Maria is often in my thoughts in prayers. I, too, will pray that her anxiety will vanish and that she will have sweet dreams.

Praying for Maria. Yes, I do pray that her sleep will be wonderful. How nice that God has 'fixed it' so her cousin could be there. When my daughter was having surgery for a collapsed lung, she was in Afghanistan, where she was a missionary in Kabul. She was lucky (no make that blessed) enough to get into a military hospital about 2 hours away. My husbands cousin was a military xray tech at that hospital. We knew that, but never expected him to call us to let us know she was there. He was able to be there when we could not get to her. God is good. She was in this tent hospital for almost 2 weeks and had 2 surgeries. She said she was on morphine, so we didn't need to worry about trying to get there (o: She is fine now, 2 years later. She decided not to stay in the country because it has been known to happen again.

My goodness. When she awakens, that will be a weird sensation to have had so much time pass.

I'm confident in God's power of healing and I'm praying that he'll hold Maria, you and your family in his hands with gentle care.

(hugs)

Dear Saija,
I am sighing and praying.
From the Hebrew-English translation,
Psalms Chapter 20

1 For the Leader. A Psalm of David.
2 The LORD answer thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob set thee up on high;
3 Send forth thy help from the sanctuary, and support thee out of Zion;
4 Receive the memorial of all thy meal-offerings, and accept the fat of thy burnt-sacrifice; Selah
5 Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.
6 We will shout for joy in thy victory, and in the name of our God we will set up our standards; {N}
the LORD fulfil all thy petitions.
7 Now know I that the LORD saveth His anointed; {N}
He will answer him from His holy heaven with the mighty acts of His saving right hand.
8 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; {N}
but we will make mention of the name of the LORD our God.
9 They are bowed down and fallen; but we are risen, and stand upright.
10 Save, LORD; let the King answer us in the day that we call. {P}

Amen says Felisol
