a new look

well i finally updated my blog!!!  i like the new features ... they make fixing things up so much easier ... and fun!

the picture that i used in my header was taken at our cottage home ... it was our "backyard" which bordered on to a channel leading to the river ... lots of opportunities for scenic photos! ...

we are still in the deep freeze here - hopefully next week it'll lift ... tho'even this bitter cold has a purpose - the ice fishing enthusiast are hoping for a quick freeze of the river, so they can drag their huts out there and fish ... awww, i remember those days ... not that i would go out, but leo would ... he would load up his ice auger and fishing gear on his little sled with a few pieces of wood to burn (in the pot belly stove in his ice shack),  then he would trudge out and spend a couple of hours trying to bring home supper ... which he usually did ... seems like a life time ago ...

just checking out the new posting method ...

blessings on  you guys as you prepare for your Christmas celebrations ...

What a beautiful header! It's cold here too and we've been under a blizzard warning since yesterday afternoon. Hopefully things will be better tomorrow!

That's a gorgeous photo!
For us it's still as good as no snow and temps around zero - but next week is supposed to sink down to -10. So still nowhere near your numbers!

Keep warm :)

How BEE U TI FULLLL! Especially from inside looking out!
I'm always in awe over those ice fishermen...the last thing I'd want to do is sit on the ice and fish! Hal used to like to go too, but hasn't in many many years.

Dear Saija,
You must be living in God's perfect "backyard".
Snow scenery like this was part of my childhood. Now the ever warmer Golf stream has driven the snow away. Instead we have rain and more rain summer and winter, just like in Noah's days.
For your sake, and the up growing children's too, I wish you a white advent and Christmas.

Then again, it must be harder to move around for Leo out doors. he should have firm ground under his feet I guess.
Your new blog facelift is very appealing.
So crisp and clean and easy to read.
I wish the best for the three of you, Leo, the Missy and yourself.
From Felisol
PS I have not forgotten Maria

LOVE your new look! So clean and fresh and pretty. Love the header, especially since we have no snow here yet, so that makes photos of it easier to enjoy. :) Have a wonderful, cozy time with Leo during this deep freeze. Tom and I are hanging out around home this week staying in from the cold and watching Netflixed things and just relaxing while his back heals from a mysterious ache. Hugs, Debra

ha!..your header picture sure doesn't look like cottage weather saija!
brrrr....brrr..brrrrrr!!!!!!!
to tell you the truth though, i guess i wouldn't mind me seeing another manitoba winter. the snow would always be blowing and the wind would make a chilling sound but we were snug in our warm base homes and together as a family, looking forward to christmas and christmas holidays from school.
we never had a whole lot saija, but these were the happiest days of my life....love terry
