olympic vacation

here is a pic of me during this 2 week period - during our "olympic vacation"!!!!

leo and i have been enjoying all the sports ...  we've been cheering on canada ... sometimes finland ... sometimes the US ... or Norways' amazing nordic skiers ... i just wish the whole world could stop from the wars, feuds and nastiness - and settle their differences in the gold/silver/bronze world ... wouldn't that be amazing ...

have you guys been watching them too?

The Olympics are a wonderful metaphor for world cooperation, the kind of international competition that's wholesome and healthy, an interplay between countries that represents the best in all of us. ~John Williams

Oh, I love that idea of an Olympic Vacation! That's so cute. I've just watched tiny bits here and there--I get so nervous when I watch the dangerous sports and I'd rather watch the clips of them *afterward* on news shows because then I know what is coming. Tom's watching them in the evenings, though, after I go to bed. :) Enjoy your Olympic Vacation, Saija and Leo! Hugs, Debra

I agree.Olympic Games are a good way of obtaining peace.
They told a story about a Norwegian coach who offered a Canadian skier
a new ski stick when her broke.
Thus Canada won a silver medal and Norway lost a bronze medal.
Everybody thought this was good sportsmanship and fair play.
The coach told that hundreds of Canadian had rewarded him after he came home to Norway, by sending him Canadian Maple Syrup- 5 tons-.
He had given most of it to charity, but still had enough to himself and his family for the rest of his life.

I love this story.
Peace building.

It surely does look like a vacation. I always think how cool it is to kick up our feet and watch the athletes work really, really hard! :)

I love your cute picture. I should be ashamed for not watching them. Don't know why I haven't, but I'm glad you are enjoying them.

Yes, we've been watching too. It's been a great Olympics for Canada...winning their first Gold medal on Canadian soil for starters. I even watched the hockey game between Canada and Russia...I was home from church with two little boys, so I had to watch it for the guys! LOL I don't even watch hockey normally, but that game was worth watching!
Then last night Joannie Rochette won a bronze medal...skating days after her mom passed away. That won't be forgotten for a long time.

Oh dear, I guess I'm a bit of a Puddleglum on this one because I refer to the Games as the 'neo-pagan Games' :(.

I don't have TV service ... but do hear bits and pieces about the games via the internet, radio and newspaper. What a good way to have a stay-cation;)
