chitchat on a sunday afternoon ...

this pic made me smile ... poor kitty, eh!!! ...

i have been an absent blog bud again ... it seems that the days have gotten shorter (though we know it's the other way round!) ... and what do i do all day, you might ask?  ... well, i am an early riser, i love those first quiet hours ... they are so important to me and my time with God ... i read my devotions, while sipping coffee that leo prepared the night before ... then when leo gets up, we spend time reading together (currently it's billy graham's, "approaching hoofbeats") ... then my daily chores, groceries, etc. need doing ... and i've gotten quite religious about my walks - they are a must in my schedule ... later in the afternoon, more time chatting with leo ... then the phone calls to family and friends (maria still has her cast on and though she is getting antsy with spring around the corner - is doing well other wise... relative term!) ... and before you know it, the day is almost done ... i do fit in bits and pieces of time on the computer, e-mails and such ...

plus, even though my blog doesn't reflect it, leo and i are news hounds ... we follow all kinds of current events - whether on tv, newspaper or internet ... though i like to step away from that on sundays!!

who knew that retirement would be busier than my working days ever were?  i am not complaining at all ... just marvelling at how full my days have become ... days that used to contain lonely moments - especially during those long winter months at our cottage ...

so i am still blogging ... just in a haphazard sort of way ... sending out a HELLO and Lord bless you guys - may your sunday (and the week to come) be peaceful!

It's amazing how one finds things to fill their time, isn't it? It always makes me wonder how I ever had the time to work. I guess I'll find out...

Always glad to have a "chat" with you on Sundays. :)

Dear Saija,
Always good hearing from you.
I am glad about the good news from Maria. I'm thinking of her and aahow brave she is wth all she's going through.
Loe s likewise a rare man. Oh, I am praying for all of you, that God may send an angle to ease your pans and heal your wounds.
have no answers to why things are like they are, but know God is there, counting your hairs, and even keeping track of the sparrows.
I thing you are acting so very wisely.
Keeping a daily routine, with reading, praying, walking.
May you feel a special blessing from me via God just now. I'm sending you all my love and consideration.
May this day turn into a special blessing for your family.
From Felisol

Your days sound a lot like mine. Retirement is just as full as working but with different activities. The nice part though is I get to choose if I feel like doing something or being lazy!
Give my love to Maria, spend your time with Leo and keep taking those walks..your doing what is important in life. You are right where God wants you to be!
Hugs!

I feel like I'm sitting at your kitchen table with you...having such a nice visit through your post...smile. I enjoyed your comment to me at my blog, thank you dear friend! comments seem to be far and few between for me anymore, yet I am loathe to stop blogging altogether. I'm sure you know what I mean. Thats interesting that you and Leo are 'newshounds'...good for you keeping up with all of the good, bad & sometimes ugly. Some days I read the news avidly and some I just go for the 'jumble' puzzle. We enjoy having the time now in retirement to leisurely 'work' the daily puzzles together. I'm lovin' it! Tranquility...how sweet it is. Hubby has a Dr's appt this a.m. so off we go. While he goes to his appt. I'll get dropped off at my favorite store to browse around....ahh, sigh of contentment. Don't you just love all this sunshine now!!! And my little collection of houseplants are loving it too. I talk to them and tell them how beautiful they are...=) *hugs* from me across the many miles!
