ice fishing weekend

we have had the most amazing week ... weatherwise, it was way above seasonal with a rapid melt happening ... today it was 13C or 55F here!  WOW!!!  leo and i have literally been watching the snow disappear!!!

the annual ice fishing derby was on this weekend ...  about 1000 or so fishermen took advantage of the great weather and still solid ice conditions!   we have front row seats from the condo to watch the coming and going ... even indie was by the window for an hour or so, wondering where all these people came from!

spiritually, we have been refreshed and blessed and growing ... God's word is something we share and discuss ... and there has been a sweetness around the house, that i would like to keep around forever ... life and chronic pain can sometimes chase away the gentle moments - so when they stay for longer periods of time i feel so blessed ...

here are pics taken of all those ice fishing folks!  and also a little scene taken during my walk - the snow should be gone the next time i venture on the trail  ... blessings on your week that is yet to be!

Wow - that's a lot of fishermen! We are also losing snow fast, actually it's almost all gone.
I'm ready for spring!

You have a beautiful view right out your window! That's a lot of fishermen on the ice, I wonder if they had much luck?
I understand just what you are saying about the sweetness you've been feeling around the house. I love that feeling too and pray yours hangs around for a very long time!

We are loving our early spring. My biggest fear is that it will storm again. I'm loving the snow melting however the doggie presents that the melting snow is unveiling...not so much :)

Dear Saja,
You are living in wonderful scenery. That is so appropriate, since Leo has to watch most of it from his window.
I also can see that you enjoy your walks along the beach here. It's beautiful.
Ice fishing is cod,though.
We know people exercising the sport here as well.
I'm not tough enough nor keen enough for that sort of outdoor activity.
The view is stunning.
Glad you are having a good time. Pray it will last.

What a special treat to view from the warmth of your home. 55 degrees!!! That is what we were last week.

I'm so glad to hear of the special times with God & his word. Mickey & I spend about an hour each morning doing just that and it truly is my favorite, most blessed, time of our day. When it gets interrupted the day is not as blessed.
((hugs))

I love 'sweetness around the house' too. smile. The ice derby fishing looks like so much fun...and what a great place you have..so near by to watch the people come and go. What kind of fish do they catch I'm wondering? Are they large or small? I enjoyed the pictures so much...blogging, sigh of contentment here...is sooo nice! *hugs*!

Before the accident my favourite past-time was fishing. We lived in Banff at the time and after work in the summer months I would walk over to the river and cast my line in and RELAX.

Are there enough fish in the lake for everyone to catch one? Holy smokes, that's a lot of peoples! :)

I'm glad it sounds like you and Leo are having some easy health days. Those are nice.
