the flowers appear on the earth ...

"My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.  For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;  The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land..."
Song of Solomon 2:10-12

i like this verse ... the flowers are indeed appearing in my little flower garden ... i was so anxious to see those green shoots sprouting and tulips blooming ... God's promise of better things to come ...

the verse also speaks of the birds singing ... which makes me think of maria ... her happy little voice as she called me from home after being sprung from the hospital!  the 3 hour angioplasty which she endured, opened up 3 blocked arteries and they were successfully fitted with stents... now she has more pep and zip then i've seen in years ... that makes me thankful ...

lately it seems that there are joy stealers in and around me - floating in the very air i breath, wanting to land in my life ... but i will try to read scripture which keeps things in the proper prospective ... amen?  amen!

blessings on  your sunday!!!!

Yep, just today I have a couple of joy stealers pop in....but was reminded of my status as 'overcomer'..and also heard the story behind "It is Well With My Soul" after which 400 high school students sang it---wow, I was moved to tears--and then I just listened to the testimony of the parents of that 14-yr-old who was killed and attacked in 2008 and how they dealt with God's sovereignty...
He is faithful...He has overcome...

So glad to hear Maria's news--how happy she must be...blessings to you, sweet sister...

Hi, Sweet Friend,
I'm glad your flowers are appearing and that Maria is better. The joy of the Lord is our strength. And greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. I have missed you. Hugs ~

Dearest Saija,
Thank you for bringing the good news about Maria.
She is indeed a living miracle!
I have memorized these verses from Romans 8 :38
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[m] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
The are efficient when the fiend strikes.

Also, yesterday I was at a flea market and found a book written by Billy Graham. In English it maybe about this title, "The Angels, God's Secret Agents."

Mr. Graham says the angels are mentioned more than 300 times in the Bible. I have prayed God send some special comfort to you, Leo and Maria just now.
May his peace be within you, always.

Amen! I too love that verse. I'm so glad to hear that Maria is doing so well.
I've met those joy stealers too, but you are right...reading the word of God will keep them away.
Have a blessed day!

Oh, just tell those joy stealers to fly away! :) We need our joy to keep us strong.... and I need flowers and birds, too! Thanks for your comments about our house portrait! Hugs, Debra

Dear bloggedity sis, (that made me smile, thanks!) Thanks for caring about R. He is not 100% but coming along. I'm so glad to hear Maria is doing so much better and that the stents improved her life so much...and that she is 'sprung' from the hospital! Praise the Lord...~~~I'm sorry there are 'joy stealers' lurking around. Scripture does keep things in perspective for sure. It is a miracle to see the flowers again and things leafing out. I've enjoyed the lilacs SO much! I planted them all down one side of our driveway some years back. They make a great privacy screen AND smell wonderful. And...they were free!!! a gift from the Lord...grin. If I had my way, I'd keep planting them around our place..but R thinks....enough is enough. =)

Such good news about Maria! I hope she is continuing to do well. She is always in my prayers, as are you and Leo.

**hugs** to all three of you!

Good news about Maria! And hang in there--I think there is something bad in the air. :) No, but really it seems that satan is trying extra hard to darken Jesus' brightest lights--and you are a bright light! So count it all joy---joy, joy, joy--and keep enjoying the flowers, all blessings and the strength God gives us to overcome every problem. Hugs, Debra
