sharing 2 pics ...

my mom was here last week ... it was so nice to see her!!!  she stayed at her big sister's place ... they got the loom set up for my aunt, who will enjoy the winter by making rugs!  i'm just sorry my mom lives so far away now!!!!  but thankful that at 75, she is still healthy enough to make the 8 hour drive down here ... that is a blessing!

mom also visited with maria's husband ... he gave back to mom the ryju rug she had made for maria, when maria was just a little girl ... mom washed the ryju in the river and hung it up to dry ... it waved so happily in the wind ...

The rug is beautiful, and to think she made it so many years ago. It's a wonderful remembrance of Maria.

I'm glad for you that you had such a nice visit with your Mom and I am so impressed with her talent! The rug is gorgeous...I called R in to see it. And to think she drove 8 hours....amazing! For me to drive 30 minutes...is a biggie. =) *hugs* (loved the pictures)

the sight of that blanket blowing in the manitoba wind ...what a scene!
i guess you and leo will be getting the cold of winter coming but this sure does look like a bright sunny day when your mom was there!
i am at mom goldens now and bernie is scanning her photo albums for her and the two are chatting together like two chipmunks and that gives me a chance to write to you!

I really admire you r mother- working on the loom.

The rug is so beautiful.

My mom used to knit and make lace , but because of weak eyesight can 't do it anymore.

Pictures from the heart..they do speak a thousand words.
They make me sigh at the beauty of the handiwork and talent your mother has. They make me think of precious Maria, in her heavenly home; and then my eyes fill with tears of joy.

What a nice reunion ... and I'm glad, too, that your mom can still make the long drive :) The rug is so special .. and almost seems ceremonial to washed it in the river (of life:) Amen!
