winter vacation

On the sixth day God turned to the Archangel Gabriel and said, "Today I am going to create a land called Canada . It will be a land of outstanding natural beauty. It shall have tall majestic mountains full of mountain goats and eagles, beautiful sparkling lakes bountiful with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, high cliffs over-looking sandy beaches with an abundance of sea life, and rivers stocked with salmon."

God continued, "I shall make the land rich in resources so as to make the inhabitants prosper, I shall call these inhabitants Canadians, and they shall be known as the most friendly people on the earth."

"But Lord," asked Gabriel, "don't you think you are being too generous to these Canadians??"

"Not really," replied God. "Just wait and see the winters I am going to give them!

this is an old joke, but it makes me smile ... canadian winters can indeed be brutal ... so, with leo's blessing, i will be going to arizona ... you know, to a desert place - to rest awhile ... i'll be travelling with a cousin - staying with another cousin plus i'll visit my AZ buds ... leo said he can manage for 2 weeks (i will have things in place to make him as comfortable as possible) ... Lord willing, i'll be jetting away at the end of the month ...

just thought i'd share my excitement of the day!!!  i can't believe that this will be winter #2 that i will get to escape to my favourite desert spot ...

Dear Saija,
The Norwegians go to the south of Spain, the Canary Isles in January / February, just for the same reason you are leaving for Arizona.
I'm so happy for you.
I'm happy for Leo too; he'll get a relaxed and renewed wife home again.

Can't wait to see you! No cast on my arm this winter (well, not yet, anyway!). Eugene asks if we can take you to Tia Rosas?
See you SOON!

The joke is really funny... but really from all that I have seen of Canada, it is indeed a blessed, bountiful, beautiful land!

Have fun in warm and sunny Arizona.
