our little rental home

you know what is great about renting? if something goes wrong in the house, you can call the landlord! and that's exactly what we did today ...

the weather has turned mild and the snow is melting quickly ... so we got some water in the basement ... which made for wet rugs and boxes ... i wasn't sure what our young landlord could do, but i gave him a call anyway ... he was here in a jiffy, jumped on his little dozer and scooped all the snow away from that particular outside wall ... then he made sure the water was draining away from the house ... he thinks that should fix it ...

leo was pretty thrilled that he didn't have to do anything about this particular problem!

at the moment we are content to wait here until we find a condo to buy ... speaking of which, i guess i should up-date you re my
timely conversation post ... we did end up going to look at this unit ... the view of the river was lovely and the condo was well kept ... BUT (you knew there was a but, right?) there were 10 steep steps to climb to the front door ... and that is too much for leo ... so this one wasn't meant for us ...

i should really claim Mark 11:24 regarding a condo ... "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." ... though i always feel so self-centered when ask the Lord for more - when He has already blessed me beyond measure ...

just my little ramble tonight ...

Hi Saija, thanks for the loving comments and thoughts you left for me. I am dog-tired and sprained a muscle in my leg...hopefully it will be better in the morning. Thats too bad you had to deal with a watery basement...sounds like extra work...sigh. Hope nothing got ruined. I was wondering if anything came of the condo with the great view of the river. God will provide, won't he! Who is like unto him? His eye is on the sparrow and I know he cares for me....I think that part was for me..smile. I'm tired and wondering if something scary is attacking my muscles tonight...like I would ever worry..smile. You have a restful and blessed Lord's Day...I'm hoping for one =)

Sorry to hear about the water in the basement, but hope it won't cause too much trouble in future. Sorry too about the condo but evidently God has a better plan....waiting again, huh? We still are not knowing WHAT to do about our quandry either...may go drive and look at some possibilities tomorrow...if hubby is up to it. He STILL is coughing terribly. I guess he is going to have to return to the doc again...it has dragged on so long now. Frustrating...this has been the sickest year yet for most in my family. So far youngest daughter and I are holding our own. Someone is needed to take care of the rest of them I guess...Blessings on you two and stay warm!

maggie ann ... voi voi ... i hope you woke up feeling BETTER ... though a sprained muscle usually doesn't like to feel better for atleast a week! but as you so nicely quoted, the Lord does care for us - ain't that grand? *smile* ... blessings on your sunday!

elizabeth ... and you have a sickie to take care of too ... voi voi ... i hear that there are many people who are laid up for weeks with that type of a cold!! but it wouldn't hurt to get his chest listened to? and re our basement, i peeked down there this morning and the rec room side looks ok, i'll go look at the bedroom later ... always something, eh!

Hi Saija... and Leo... No you don't need that many steps. Find a flat entry and be comfortable.

susie ... they were really steep too ... :o( ... but it gets us out and looking, plus encouraged that God can make an opportunity out of any chance meeting!

osray ... i agree ... the only problem in these parts is that there are so few of them ... i am just now realizing what an impatient person i am!! *shaking head, chuckling* ...

Gosh you are lucky to have such a nice landlord! Ours is nice, but he is never here, he is out of town the better part of the year and we are pretty much on our own. Luckily my hubby is handy and can fix most of the little stuff.

Sorry to hear about your soggy basement :(

feathers ... we only had some boxes and rugs down there - ánd we caught it before everything got really damp ... :o) ... we are the first renters for our landlord - we're his learning curve!!
