what's up in my world? well ...

i had some disappointing condo news again today ... 2 condos we previously thought might be available in late spring - most likely won't be ... the condos belong to little old ladies (yes, much older than me!) and they aren't sure about nursing homes ... well the story weaves around family issues as well ...

as i said, the news was disappointing ... but my heart did not get down or fret - in other words, i wasn't personally disappointed ... it was another "wait" from the Lord ... He knows better than i do - so i can also safety "trust" in the outcome ...

i may just have to unpack a bit more ... maybe ...

our rental has been a good spot to rest, reflect and read! the 3 "R's" ... not that it is a perfect spot ... the previous owner was a heavy smoker ... and even though the carpets have been washed, there is still a certain staleness in the air that i haven't been able to get rid of ... i woke up at 3 a.m. last night (i've done that for the past few nights) and i could smell it ... it will be wonderful when i can open windows once again ... to let the fresh air bath the house ....

you know, i really needed this time of rest before i head off to the park and another season of work ... i've so enjoyed my 3 R's ... would i have preferred that we were already in our condo? YES! am i down about it? NO!

life is more interesting taking the long way round ...

So sorry about the smoking smell...that is the worst. We run 2 air cleaners (EXPENSIVE ONES) most of the time here and the guy who was here before us probably did not smoke that much...we think it was likely a pipe. BUT that is so nasty...my sympathies. And we lived in a house 13 years and NEVER totally got rid of it...sigh! One problem with renting, if they let you have animals, you are also stuck with stench from someone who earlier smoked! Hope you will be once again in your own place ere long...one that HAS NOT been smoked in even!!

elizabeth ... here's hoping the same! when leo used to smoke, he wouldn't do it inside, he would always go outside, it's just a smelly habit (and we won't go into health issues!) ... i'm just thinking that otherwise i could probably get very comfy here - the smoking thing will keep me looking and ready to move on! blessings to you!

claire ... awww, what a lovely thing to say - i'm blushing ... mom took the pic on thursday ..her camera seems to smooth everything over and it's just a bit fussy - which works well for us "mature" gals!

I like your good attitude. There is likely a reason your taking the long road. Normally we stop to smell the flowers along the way, but for you it's the smoke. I added you to my links list today. Thanks for letting me know.

darlene ... *laughing* ... yup the smoke - atleast it's stale & old - not the new, stick to your lungs, type!
