storm clouds

last night our power went out as a wind storm swept in, bringing threatening clouds ... i ran outside to take pictures (of course!) ...

thankfully our power was only out 20 minutes and the clouds became less threatening as they moved across the sky ...

i found the scene around me breathtakingly beautiful ...

this morning i'm reminded of this chorus:

i just keep trusting my Lord, as i walk along ...
i just keep trusting my Lord, and He gives a song ...
tho' storm clouds darken the sky -o'er the heav'nly trail,
i just keep trusting my Lord - He will never fail!

blessings on your sunday!

update: driving to work i heard on the radio that a tornado touched down north of us, just minutes after i took these photo's ... i did think the clouds looked menacing - but? leo says we've already had 2 phonecalls to check on our safety.

Sandy ... leo is just now taking another call re "the storm" ... it was on the news because one lady died at her cottage (tornado hit it) ... friends sure do find a persons phone number when they get concerned!

fred ... that is a perfect way of putting it! it was so beautiful, yet really became the beast for some!

elizabeth ... scary yet really amazing!

mrsd ... we heard all kinds of sirens around here (and usually there is never any noise like that!) ... lots of activity ... it was sad that one lady died - but amazing that was all!

tim ... we have a basement - though we are so green about storms like this that i probably would have continued taking pics????? well, i guess once the winds hit 100 clicks, i'd figure out to go in!

I'm glad you weren't hit with the tornado. I heard about it on the news and wondered if that was close to you.

I'm glad you were safe...the pictures are breathtakingly beautiful though. I think I would have run outside with the camera too. You did good! We are off to visit our daughter for a week, hope everything is going well for you. *hugs*

wow... good thing you're safe. Storms are frightening, but the moments just before they arrive, are really special. And we don't even have tornado storms! (Thank God for that...)

sabine ... yes, it was very close to us - about 20 minutes away ... and the lady that died lived west and i guess it hit 30 minutes before the clouds arrived here ... (hugs) to you!

maggie ann ... *grin* ... aren't we bad with the cameras??? have a wonderful, joyful time with your daughter & fam!!! blessings!!!

eija ... we used to say that we don't have tornadoes either ... the weather is changing so much ... interesting times we live in! hope all is well in your corner of the world!

WOW!~ Just stunning!

P.S. Are you sure you aren't from Minnesota---you know you're a real Minnesotan when the Tornado sirens are blowing and you grab your lawn chair to sit on the front porch to watch the storm!!!!!!

Storms can be scary but pretty eh?

Except for when one takes my husbands hundreds of miles away from me. Because sometimes when a HUGE storm hits somewhere (like out of state or something) he will have to go for around a week and help to restore power (he cuts tree rights of way for the power company here).

Diane ... well Minnesota is right below us, their relaxed ways must have rubbed off on us!

jessica ... yes, storms and fires and such, do need people that can deal efficiently with them ... your hubby is one of the can do type guys, eh ... blessings!

Wow! You really do manage to get some beautiful photos of your surroundings.

I love storms, but tornadoes scare the heck out of me! I'm glad you didn't get hit!

catherine ... we've never really experienced one - so i'm sure the winds alone would have had us running for cover (i hope!) ... we just got the cloud formations that eventually did their wicked mischief a few miles down the road!

Storms are so powerful and beautiful, the rawness of nature.

A tornado, though, that takes on a whole different level. Glad you're okay. :)
