innocence shattered ...

i found the news so disturbing today ... a one room school house ... innocent children ... amish children ... and a disturbed man with a gun ...

just like in Colorado ...

just like in other areas of the world ...

today's horror happened in the most innocent of places ... that one room school, with a horse and buggy outside ...

what madness and what evil ...

i wonder how long the Lord will allow it?

You know I keep wondering too, if this will apply to the Rev. verse I think it is about the martyrs gathering under the throne and asking God how long till HE avenges them? These poor families who probably did not even know such things COULD happen living so isolated as they do. One of our friends is on his way to Ohio today (business he has with a shop with Amish and Mennonites who run it) and they are sure that this will impact them too because the Amish are pretty much all related, no matter where they live. May God help us all in these difficult times we live in. (Of course our friend's trip was planned long before this happened...I imagine his comfort will be needed there).

I honestly don't know. It can't be too much longer that this earth will exist. There's a lot to happen yet, though. I just pray that the families will be able to make it through. (sigh)

elizabeth ... after just being in amish country a few weeks back, it almost seemed personal ... to do this to the very innocent and trusting must be a real stench in God's nostrils ... i just remember the vers "vengence is mine, i will repay saith the Lord" ...

jeanette ... what has amazed me is the way they have forgiven already ... on the news one of the spokesmen said: Christ told us to forgive, as He's forgiven us - so we have ... they are a witness in their quiet ways ...

I am really disturbed by how many of these school shootings have been in the news over the past few years -- such a thing was a rarity when I was a kid, but it seems like there are more and more of them every year. School should be a sanctuary for children, yet it's become a place to fear. So sad.
