i was almost at the office ... in the salt mines of the park ... when an eagle flew across the road, some large (quite dead!) animal in it's mouth ...
i had time ... so i turned the car around and tried to snap some pics of this magnificent looking bird ... but ... he didn't cooperate, my zoom wasn't strong enough and i did have to get to work ...
however, this will give you an idea ...
cool, eh? ... *smile*
I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in.

I like that quote. I always think of 2005 as The Year God Sent Me Hummingbirds.
Very cool!! :) God is the supreme artist, isn't He? His eye for beauty is unparalleled.
Hugs to you, Saija.
What a beautiful bird and what fortunate timing that you were able to see him! :)
Wow! Photographing birds is a difficult (and expensive) thing to do, so your camera did just fine!
Resigning? Some news you have! Does this mean you'll have time to visit Finland this summer after all? ;)
Very, very cool. This would be a piece that would make it hard for me to want to walk away from this job....
Thanks for praying for my dad Saija. I appreciate it so much... Love Terry
You work in the best salt mines. Always so much beauty.
Take Care
Michael
LOVE this! Thanks for sharing!
Very cool ....except for the dead something in the Eagles mouth, but hey, everyone has to eat!!
sabine ... i liked the quote too ... and thought it held truth to it!
rita ... i guess God passes along that appreciation of His work, to us - His children ... :)
jeanette ... i couldn't believe how it worked out to see the eagle, and that i had my camera with me!
eija ... thank you ... :o) ... and finland? well - i am definitely praying about it ... leo says "go" but? we'll see ... !!
tina ... i have been so blessed and fortunate these past 14 years, and some things will be hard to leave behind!
terry ... i hope that he is more comfortable ... ((hugs))
michael ... that is why most mornings i could sing "hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work i go" with a big smile ...
antbk ... glad you enjoyed it!
pat ... ya, the dead something i felt sorry for ... but like you said, they gotta eat!
beautiful pics u seem to get.... wonder where you are.
and i love spending time with nature... tho in the city, the best i get is the night sky after 1 (the time i bathe)
but i come from Kerala. and childhood was blissfull with nature
Used to live where the eagles would come by for a couple weeks on their way north for the summer. Had to keep a close eye on the little rabbit sized dog we had. She seemed to know these huge birds were perched on our roof watching for a snack! Pretty awesome spot that was, however, and with other unusual (to us) wild life. One of the 2 most peaceful spots we ever lived...hubby still misses the river!
Great pictures! I think my small dog, a silky terrier, 15 pounds, would be on his menue.
I love eagles. They are so powerful and beautiful and yet so full of grace in their flight. Thanks for sharing the pictures. connie from Texas
ab ... the prairies of canada, which have these pockets of lakes, canadian shield and forests ... :) ... i had to google kerala (in India, i see) to see where exactly where it was!
elizabeth ... when leo still fished, there was a bald eagle family that always returned to the same area of the river ... he enjoyed watching them over the years! quite the birds of prey!
bluecollar ... that would have made a good meal for sure! i think this was more of a large mink or something that lives near the water's edge in our parts! he seemed quite pleased with himself!
connie ... i see we were online the same time ... :o) ... glad you enjoyed the pics ...
I like these photos! Eagle is a wonderful bird! Thanks for sharing!
