pics from my week ...

i just took this shot of a rainbow that just appeared ... we've had so much rain lately, that i'm glad that God's promise still stands in the sky ... He remembers ...
and look at these blossoms ... yay!!!! that means that maybe we will get out of this polar bear mode and into some real sunshine and warmth .... it was great to see the trees starting to bud and blossoms pop ...

when i ride my bike ... or walk ... i usually stop at this little park ... it's a place where i like to still my heart and pray ... my bike rides and walks are prayer times ... but this lovely little haven is usually a peaceful place to have a more in depth talk (or listen!) to my Lord ...

when you live in the centre of a little town, you never know what will pass by your window ... the other day, a parade marched by ... they were on their way to the veterans park for a D-Day service ... you can see the spiffy RCMP red ... followed by some of our vets ... then there was a pipe and drum band ... very sweet and reverential ...

and lastly ... please meet indie ... he's a little 7 year old neutered male cat, that i picked up from the pet rescue place ... we've had him for over 2 months and we absolutely love him! he was almost put down at the humane society - then passed on to the rescue place ... adopted out for 7 months - then the people brought him back because they said he didn't like the other pets in the home ... so along we came ... he still has his nervous moments, but what love he gives us ... lots of purrs ... sits on our laps to snooze ... just SO GREAT ... i thought we would never get another cat after our 2 attempts over the last 2 summers didn't work out ... and it was with some fear and trepidation that we thought "we'll try one more time!" ... and now we have our little indie ... ... we did have some problems with his teeth right off the bat (he had to have 4 of them pulled!) ... hopefully that solved the poor little guys problem ... and now leo doesn't need to look at every cat picture and story - he has his own little (only 7 pounds) cat to pet ...

blessings on your mid week!!!!

I'm so sorry the other two kitties didn't work out for you guys. What an adorable little one Indie appears to be, though.

Thanks for sharing your special places via pictures... I love to see that kind of thing. :)

I just got so refreshed by visiting your blog. I was surprised that you had another (replacement) cat. He's very nice looking. Good news about your sister. And the sauna ... well, it's been years since I've been in one ... but I can recall the scent of the wood from the heated rocks ... nice memories.

May God bless you and Leo too!

Dear Saija,
Despite all trials ,-spring did come and how beautiful!
Don't I love the rainbow. God's confirmation of his promises.
I can see how you can meet God in the beauty and peace of the park.

Indie is lucky to have found you.
It must be quite a challenge to raise a cat with such sad history.
Cats are wise and especially sensitive to love.
Just watch him when you have your moments of prayer. He will lay still and kind of pray with.
God bless the three of you. Indie, Leo and Saija.
A special prayer for Maria.

I love to look out the windows to your world, and especially loved that little parade marching by Those RCMP are spiffy!
How's Maria doing? I pray she is continuing to improve.
I loved your quote, had to read it twice, it was that good!

What a beautiful post...contentment and thankfulness. what wonderful friends they make. I envy you the joys of Indi...one summer long ago someone dropped off a stray cat? and she had kittens on our back porch. That was the most fun summer. We eventually had to take them to the shelter...5 cats are just too many. Anyway, one little guy was too hard to catch and on the wild side. Our daughter won his heart and he ...hers. she named him Bud...and he was the joy of the summer. I'm afraid we lost him to a neigboring 'tom' in the fall. I remember once my husband was sitting under a maple tree reading the paper and Bud climbed out on the limb over head of him to swat the paper. We loved his antics. I'm sure you have things like that happen all the time. Enjoy him for me too. R is not a cat person. And thats that...smile. *hugs* from here...that parade must have been exciting to see...glad you got a picture. I know how that is here when a horse and wagon come by and its gone before I can go grab a camera.

You two love cats just like us..so glad that you found one that is working out. We still have Annie. She has her moments too but we think she has been mis-treated sometime. That is horrible.
Hope all is good there and some warm weather is coming. We are having the HOT kind..Sandy

Congratulations on your new kitty! He looks just like a smaller version of my Niko, who also needs to have several teeth pulled (all of the back ones) in the near future due to a chronic infection. In the meantime, he's on daily meds to keep the inflammation at bay so that he can eat. How did Indie do with the extractions? Did he recover quickly?

I'm so glad Leo has a new feline friend! I know he's really been wanting one. How fortunate that you and Indie found each other!
