exciting bike ride!

i was just sharing this little story with leo - i went for a bike ride today ... close to home i was delayed for about 20 seconds because a truck with a loaded trailer was completely blocking the road ... i had to stop my bike and wait for him to back into his driveway -then i continued merrily along ... and because of that little delay- i missed meeting up with a bear! yup ... there were people yelling & clapping at this 300 pound, very healthy, adult bear who was running across the road!!! i told leo about the bear as soon as i got home, after cutting my bike ride short (wouldn't you??) ... but i had forgotten the part about being delayed those few seconds!! if not for those few seconds, i would have been right where the bear was running across the road!!! i wonder if the bear would have run over me? hmmmm? after leo heard the rest of the story, he started singing "angels watching over me" ... indeed!!

yesterday i was able to go into the city and see maria again ... her spirits are good - her body, not so good ... they are now telling her that she will probably be in the hospital for another month ... thank you guys again for praying for her ... she has so many things that are failing in her body - but if her spirits remain up - that is half the battle won!

the Lord is faithful ... in all things ... whether it's a road trip to the big city and inner city hospital ... or a bike ride in our little town, where a bear could have easily side swiped me!

just sharing ... blessings on ya!

Yes - God was truly watching over you today, just as he watches over Satu and me too! Sometimes the things He does are more obvious than other times, but what a blessing to know He is with us always!

Who knew an angel could come in tractor-trailer form?
May God give Marie all that she needs...and you too..

Wow, that is really something. It's a good thing God and His angels detained you. Glad you are getting out going for rides. And glad you could visit with Maria. Hugs ~

I'm so glad you were delayed and didn't run into the 300 pound bear. The very thought of a live bear that large gives me goose-bumps! God was watching out for you....=)

That is amazing about the Bear...! WOW! Do people often see Bears where you live? I HOPE NOT...lol!
I mean, I love Bears, but not if they are looking for Dinner!

Every time we go up to Yosemite, we see the videos they play in the lobby of the campground of the bears ripping through metal into people's cars just to get to some food.

Then I always wait to see bears, but never do. So I always tell him, "There are no bears!" Tony's parents went up to Yosemite and claimed that they saw a bear... I asked if they got a picture and my MIL said, "Well, noooo..." To which I replied, "There are no bears." Nevermind that she was almost a nun before she married Tony's dad. hehe

So, I ask you, "Did you get a picture??" :)

no proof! of this bear anyway, but i do have some pics from our cottage and the bears there ... will that do? *smile* ... i didn't have my camera with me, and by the time the digi went on and i clicked - yogi would have long been gone - he was really booting it!! that's why i thought he would have steam rollered me! ... though i could take bear poop pics, he's been leaving his calling card all over town ... there are actually 2 of them! tis the season for bears - soon they will be looking for a hibernating place ...

Pays to be be "prayed up", huh?! Being side swiped by a bear just couldn't end well! Thank the Lord for your delay!
Yes, the Lord is truly faithful in all thing...he keeps Maria in his loving hands, and her spirit sweet. She's always in my prayers.

Dear Saija,
The Lord's timing for sure is perfect.
Once in a while we need these reminders that the Lord walks by our side all of the time.
May he stay firm by Maria and Leo's side too, and may they be affirmed in their belief, God is everywhere, busy caring for us all of the time.

Just catching up on some of my favorite stops in blogland. Nice delay in your bike ride, eh? Providence is on your side. Praying for Maria again .. and for Leo as well. May God give them both the strength and reassurance they need to get through the tough times.

Hugs,
