'tis the season ...

pic of our front door (taken last year - but as soon as i find the cute red elf from finland - it should look the same!) ... yup, 'tis the season ...

december brings so many rolling emotions into play ... happy, sad, excited and thankful ... there is that theme of thankfulness again ... though our celebrations are quiet now, compared to years past, somehow the child in me is always ready to come out - filled with joy and anticipation - and thankfulness that Jesus has given us the best reason to celebrate!!!!

Our Christmas is also much quieter, but that excitement does come out when I hear the music and see the lights. And as you say, there is such thankfulness for that great gift of the baby that was born for us!

Advent time is a good time for adults too.
I like burning the advent candle, many candles and singing along with the Christmas carols on my ipod.
...And shed some good tears from joy. God sending his own son for our salvation!
A light shining in the darkness.
December is a perfect month for contemplation and rejoicing.

I simply love this time of year--Thanksgiving and Christmas. I still put up a big tree and decorate the first few rooms of the house. I bake for several days prior to Christmas and give the goodies to our wonderful neighbors. We don't have many family members come by anymore but we are blessed with the greatest friends anyone could ask for and celebrating with them is wonderful.
I think your elf is darling and I wish you and Leo much joy during this season and always.
Hugs~

I think that this season is best experienced with an attitude of child-likeness. Blessings.

I enjoyed my visit. Thank you for sharing---how wonderful that He IS our reason to celebrate. And He will always be all we need for every emotion or need.
Blessings to you from Shirley in Virginia
