prairie warmth ...

notice i haven’t talked about our weather lately?

not like in
January of last year ... yikes! every other post i did seemed to be weather related! it was SO COLD, i’m talking -47C COLD ... i posted pictures of our thermometer so that i would be believed ... brrrr ...

well this year the weather has been hovering around -3C ( ... 30F) ... that is absolutely shorts weather in these parts, at this time of year!

and perfect for us because we have things outside that need to be sorted ... today we spent almost 2 hours working on the shed ... i’m amazed leo lasted that long ... but we did make a dent (sort of) ... we just thanked the Lord that the weather was so great! if our move was in the summer, that shed area is where the mosquitoes hang out ... and in the spring, it is soggy ... so this has turned into a good time!

who knew, eh?

i guess God did ... *smile*

Hey Saija, sounds like Leo is doing a lot better. That's GREAT! I love the ghost in the tree... I think that is what it is. We are getting too much rain, but you know what, when it rains, it's warmer and I like that part of it.

Wow...still sounds more than chilly!! That cold must be hard to deal with! But as you say, better than other alternatives!

osray ... actually it is a little angel in a window - just see through type ... my sister took in the pic in Victoria, BC ... i used it because of the weather look - cloudy cloudy cloudy - which is fine! it hasn't snowed much anymore and it is mild ... last year was just horrific at this time! yay for mild weather!

elizabeth ... yes, much better than the -40's we had last year for MOST of the month (those were lows, but the highs were only around -30C) ... that is why we are trying to get the shed in moving order ... so when help comes, we can just say, take what is in the middle!

I have moved a lot and I think you're starting the packing reallll early. My own practice is to allow one day per room in advance of the move date, otherwise I agonize over every item and handle things too many times. Maybe that's an just an excuse for procrastination but it works for me!

Of course, if you have outside sorting to do and you live in northern cda, then you take the opportunity when you have it.

stella ... thank you so much for that practical advice! we only move once every ten years or so (it's been closer to 14 this time!), so we aren't very good at it! all advice gratefully accepted! i appreciate that! maybe now i won't chastise myself over not having everything done all ready! *laughing* ... !
