it's all about the flowers ...

as i sat on the couch praying this morning ... i hate to admit this - but my prayers were selfish ones - AGAIN ... re, a place for us to buy ... then i happened to lift my eyes up and gaze out the front window ... i saw bright red dots by the tree line ... i hadn’t noticed any flowers blooming there before, yet today the red was vibrant and in full glory ...

i put on some runners, turned on the digi and went to investigate ...

low and behold - there again were some glorious flowers (peonies this time) ... coming up without any assistance or fuss or bother - for me alone to breath in the fragrance and enjoy their beauty ... flowers that i hadn’t planted or tended ... flowers that none the less were in full bloom and healthy ...

so i hummed "my" song of this season ...

Consider the lilies, they toil not nor spin,
they bask in God’s sunshine, they drink in God’s rain
...if God cares for them in such marvelous ways ...
how much more? how much more? how much more?
will He care for you and supply all your needs every day

... sigh ... ain't that the truth! ... i need to be firmly planted in it ... resting in the knowledge that God has set all things in place ... i just need to enjoy the beauty around me ...

"Now we see things imperfectly as in a poor mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God knows me now."
I Corinthians 13:12

p.s. yes, i have blogged about this "waiting time" before! ... what can i say - i'm a slow, impatient learner!

"Consider the lilies..." has been going through my mind lately, too. It's been a tough spring for me and I'm blessed by all the beauty that is appearing without my tending.

those are some tall flowers. flowers are good for healing. such peace i get from the earth around me, even if my earth is in pots. plant pots, not toilet pots.

sabine ... you have such a beautiful area to enjoy ... blessings all around us ... a reminder of Gods care ... but won't it be wonderful to one day be set from from all this and be at Home with Him who redeemed us? (hugs) to you!

jeanette ... you should see all the lovely flowers coming up all on their own!! blesses my heart! and i love your garden in pots - it seems quite peaceful! hope all is well in your world!

Aren't we all slow and impatient when it comes to learning? I know that I am. We as human beings are just that way. I think it is born in us. If we learned everything we were supposed to the first time we would all be perfect right away and God did not make us that way. We will never be perfect here on earth...God had a better plan for us...I would not want to be perfect..How about you?

If my kids need or even want something I want them to tell me about it. Unless what they're asking for is wildly extravagent or selfish I'm always pleased that they ask me. I want to know their desires and hopes.

In the same way, I'm convinced that your heavenly father is delighted that you are asking him for what you need. If you are thinking that your prayers are selfish it says that you don't think the Father wants the best for you. He does. Tell him your needs, dreams and hopes. He'll sort it out and give you those things that he decides are best for you.

flip/flop ... it is good that God remembers that i'm imperfect as well as impatient! i am just eager to get our new place found & bought - then settle in ... i am having a tough time waiting ... i guess that is where the lesson lies - maybe? the "wait, wait for the Lord".... blessings to you!

rodney ... that is a very good point ... my problem is that i feel selfish asking for more, when i feel i have so much ... but i guess to ask for a home isn't selfish (rather than living in our temporary rental) ... i do believe that my Heavenly Father will answer ... just picture me as a little kid on a journey, asking constantly "are we there yet?" ... :o) ... and how 'bout that kidman/usher wedding - did you get to go? *chuckle* ...
