spoiled cats and sunday evenings ...

picture our sunday evening ... leo was resting in the bedroom ... i thought i would read ... so i sat in his big boy recliner, opened it up and found a comfy position ... our fearless feline (who misses me when i am at work), jumped on my lap and fell asleep ... an hour goes by ... it's getting too dark to read comfortably ... what to do? soooo, instead of disturbing the spoiled fur ball, i call out to leo to come put the light on for me ... my poor gimpy husband makes his way into the living room ... s-l-o-w-l-y ... and turns the reading light on, plus positions it for me ... all for a cat who is blissfully snoozing on his mistresses lap ... silly cat people, eh!

Wonderful cozy moments! Yes, I agree...you should always let sleeping cats lie. :)

michael ... :o) ... i am well, though for whatever reason i'm withdrawing into me ... maybe regrouping my thoughts ... i think we all do that at times! hey, it's your monday - hope it will go by really really pleasantly for you!!!

ginger ... it was a cozy moment ... and at the end of the evening our spoiled kitty was still unhappy that i closed up the chair to head for bed!

Cats are different from dogs. Our dog likes to sit beside us too, in recliner, on couch etc...but ONLY on our left side with her tail towards the back of the chair and her head outwards. And if we move at all or say anything...she is wide awake. So it would do no good to ask anyone else to do something as she would awaken and likely hop down anyway. We do kind of miss having something a bit more snuggly...but we sure do love this old dog who still thinks she is a pup! The place previous to this came with an outdoor cat who LOVED to snuggle on the swing and often he and hubby would go to sleep out there together.

You're such a dear...doesn't surprise me a bit that you couldn't distrub the cuddly feline!

mrsd ... *laughing* ... i don't know if this falls under the proverb about caring for ones animals ... maybe a little excessive, eh?

fred ... one of our friends once remarked that if she believed in reincarnation, she'd want to come back as one of our cats ... :o)

jeanette ... not in our house or yours! but some folks might think we're odd!

elizabeth ... yes, usually people fall under the "dog people or cat people" categories ... i think i'm both - leo is DEFINITELY a cat person!

tina ... *chuckling*, i'm not, but sweet of you to think so ... (hugs)!

maggie ann ... no kids means spoiled pets! we do love our fur ball! he's a sweetie ...

susie ... that is true ... it's been proven that cats lower a persons blood pressure ... of course when they scratch the furniture, then all bets are off!
