fall colours ...

yes, there are light coloured leaves all over our front yard (pic taken minutes ago) and even more in the back ... it looks lovely ... and signifies that a dramatic change in seasons will soon occur here in middle canada ... one from wearing t-shirts, to wearing sweaters, to being booted up and mummified with scarfs, mitts and warm coats ...

i love to watch the fall colours ... this year i may get to see some brilliant reds and golds ... why is that? you ask ... the answer being: on wednesday my aunts and i are jetting away to the largest city in Canada - to celebrate another aunt's 40th wedding anniversary ... it will be a mini vacation (leo and our fearless feline will be home alone for 5 days) ... i am looking forward to it, yet one part of me is dreading the travel ... and time away from home ...

speaking of "A" home ... i so miss all my books surrounding my computer area ... they are still packed in boxes, waiting for the day when i can unpack in our new home - date unknown ... still waiting and praying about that one ...

well i am procrastinating re getting things organized for my trip ... i hope to blog before - and during the trip ...

blessings on the start of your week!

Dear Saija...Ha!! Great minds think alike.
I took a similar picture yesterday as this one. I will put it on my blog.
Our leaves aren't falling YET!
I remember one October when I took my mom out to Brandon that some of our leaves were still on the trees, although many had fallen and a few hours later in Brandon, all the trees were bare and there was SNOW on the ground!
Doesn't matter though..I STILL love Manitiba!!![the best]..Love Terry

I set out my "plastic" leaves just this morning, attempting to create some semblance of my favorite season! Not the same as the beautiful picture you've posted! Have a wonderful time away--your activities with mom and aunties makes me think of "Little Women" for some reason and a photo you posted when talking about another aunti event!
Relax and enjoy--sounds like soon you'll be deep into packing, etc.!

Have a wonderful, fun, safe trip! I know what you mean about being excited about travel, yet dreading the time away from home. I don't travel much because I dread the thought of leaving my pets. I always miss them so much, and I can't stand the thought of them missing me! I'm glad Leo and the fearless feline will have each other's company while you're away. :)

I think Fall is my favorite season. Although, living in Minnesota, I have been known to say that about Spring and Summer too. Still, the colors and the crispness of the air are breathtakingly beautiful...with the exception that I KNOW winter is just around the corner!

Thanks for sharing the pic! The trees here in mid N.Carolina are just starting to turn and drop leaves, even though it is still plenty warm (80 degree days in my opinion is warm!!) I am looking forward to the end of quite as much hot humidity anyway...though humidity is good for the skin, it saps all the energy out of a person!! While up in the mountains the 1st weekend of Sept. we noticed the trees beginning to get color, so in a month it would make a nice trip to go see them again!!

elizabeth ... in our area, the colours are quite muted ... i'm hoping for more colour in the lake ontario area!!

No kidding, and not just in the travel sphere! My new neighbor at work has been with the firm for 22 years, and I was just wondering today what it was like when she started there -- now, the firm has this incredible computer network and all sorts of really cool technology. 22 years ago, I'm thinking they probably used smoke signals. LOL
