city trip ...

here's a pic of my morning journey into the city ... i drove in to visit and then to buy a few items so that i can begin to COZY UP the rental! the first purchase (ottoman that has storage in it - to be used as a coffee table) was a success ... let's see if the next (new curtains for the living room) works out the same ... this is my little "letting go and letting God" offering - settling in to wait on Him for our home ...

"Humbe yourselves therefore under the might hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." I Peter 5:6-7

So beautiful, yet potentially treacherous. Just like life. (Was that deep, or what?)

Saija..what a gorgeous picture! Seeing it wants me to cozy up my home some more...love to see some pictures of what your doing with your rental!! Enjoy your evening and blessings to you!!

Yes, please share photos of what you do to "cozy up" your place. We too live in a rental...now over 3 years...and lots still in boxes...as I said earlier...need to pare down. But must decide WHAT might be nice too for a little bit of added "nice"...

Your new ottoman/coffee table sounds great! I second (or third?) the call for photos! I'm slowly, bit-by-bit, trying to spruce up and remodel my house. I started with the kitchen last week and got a new faucet, which I love. Next week I'm getting a new stove -- can't wait! But what I'm really looking forward to is new flooring throughout the house... one step at a time. :)

fred ... very deep *grin*! ... i was afraid the roads might be slick (black ice) but they turned out to be only wet! *big relief*!!!!

mindy ... i was driving with one hand, camera in the other - bad saija! - but i am happy for the pics! :o)

elizabeth ... i did take a before/after pic ... so maybe i'll post that soon ... or as soon as i can - tomorrow i plan another city trip, franklin graham is in, holding a festival ...

catherine ... the before/after are quite dramatic for me! even if it was from a make-shift coffee table to an ottoman ... we gave away some of the bigger pieces of furniture when we moved (and older, much used pieces!) since we are paring down ... that is one reason i was reluctant to replace or unpack ... the other reason is my own stubbornness! ... sounds like you will have some lovely spruced up spaces at your place too! COOL! :o)

Snow...something I will never miss but I think it is fun to see a picture every now and again. It is still pretty HOT here in south eastern USA...we turned the air off because it turned cool and now it is back to HOT and we are trying NOT to turn it back on..You have the cool and we have the HOT SMILE!! What are those wonderful heavily laden with snow trees? I can't even image living in such beauty, My guess is that where you are, even the temporary condo will have beauty.

Sandy ... the "snow" and i, have agreed to co-exit peacefully ... i used to abhor it - but, since we don't go down south in the winter anymore, i thought i had best learned to co-exist! :o)

antbck ... i think those are willows that still had their leaves on - so they bent some ... it really was a spectacular sight, i'm so glad that i've master that one-handed driving skill (??? only for short stints!), so that i could snap pics at the same time!

Oh to be driving on a winter prairie highway Saija from Rivers to Brandon where we used to go the Brandon Gospel Hall Sunday School.
The roads were always clear because the wind would just blow the snow straight across the highway and into the aready snow filled fields...
I LOVE this picture Saija!
Thanks for posting it ...Love Terry

terry ... the one good thing about prairie highways - if you go off the road, the ditches usually aren't too deep! *grin*
