making the rental cozy

today was the new curtains day ... first we had to take off the really old verticals that came with the rental ... then - clean thoroughly ... and finally we put up the new curtains ... which fit like a charm ... you'll just have to take my word for it!

as you can see, i am serious about settling in for however long the Lord wants us to be renting ... that doesn't mean that i'm not praying for our condo/house, it's just that i've given up my stubborn attitude regarding unpacking!!! now that things are more to my liking - i'm even feeling more optimistic ...

this is the ottoman i picked up yesterday ... it is just the comfy type of furniture i like ... it serves as our coffee table with lots of room for storing books and magazines inside ... yay for double uses!!!

in the next few days i will be unpacking boxes ...

it was a good day over here ... *big smile* ...

It's looking really great -- love the ottoman/coffee table/storage thing. I'm all about multiple functioning items. :)

Looks like you are getting some good stretching exercises to me..You know sometimes when you just say..God I am going on with life and turning this problem over to you. He then gives you the desires of your heart. He just wants to see how much FAITH you really have. I know we have done that before and that generally happens. Just let God!! Sandy

Oh! Oh! LOVE the ottoman! It just may be the prettiest one I've ever seen... You must have great taste. :) I'm glad you are cozying things up... maybe God is just waiting for you to be totally happy in the rental so that you can show Him you can be happy anywhere as long as He's there, too,.... and then poof! He'll have just the right place for you at the right time. Who knows? :) Blessings, Debra

Sandy ... so true, a lesson i learn over and over again - just when i think i can bloom where i'm planted - turns out i need more fertilizing! *grin*

debra ... the ottoman is from walmart (so very reasonably priced) ... it was the nicest one i have seen too, yet the bestest of prices!!! yay!! ... and this morning when i walked into the living room, i smiled - it looked so much more like "home" ... and that's a good thing!

Well I just got back from Walmart--thanks to your blog, they're sold out! (Just kidding--but it really is pretty and the throw and The Good Life" complete the picture!) God bless!

antibk ... *grin* ... i've enjoyed putting my feet up once again! i should have posted the "before" pic, but i was too embarressed - the coffee table was 3 boxes, with a large slab of wood on top! the college look!

I was just admiring how spotless your house is Saija and then I read your comment that you staightened up BEFORE the picture. Ha!! When I know I am having company and start cleaning up, Bernie always asks me, "Who's coming over?"
MEN!!!They are always so RIGHT!...Love Terry

terry ... i'm one of those "comfy housekeepers" ... my house isn't spotless, but it's usually not a disaster area either - somewhere in the middle suits me fine - unless the Queen is coming for a visit or something! when i do my cleaning, leo always says "why are you cleaning? it doesn't need it"... *laughing* ... opposites attract!
