Christmas feelings ...

Christmas is a time when you get homesick - even when you're home.
~Carol Nelson
i posted this Finnish type pic last night, and i thought the quote went with it ... but this morning as i look at it - i realize that for the first time in a very long time, i'm not homesick for anywhere else ... i don't long for Christmas past ... or for people ... or for places ... i am quite content ...
of course it would be lovely to spend this time with family ... or to just once more, touch the face of a loved one that has died ... but it isn't the same sadness that usually overtakes me at this time of year ...
i guess being overly busy - can sometimes be a good thing!
i give thanks to my Heavenly Father for ALL things ... and not being meloncholy at Christmas is definitely one of them!

I do understand your feelings of melancholy. I have 2 daughters in the netherlands who I would loved to have over and spend these Holidays with us. But... for every negative feeling, there is a positive one as well. I am so grateful to be able to spend time with my loved ones here and to be loved so much. By them and our Father. :-)
Let's linger on whatsoever things are good, pure and true!

Many warm Holiday-greetings to you, Saija and may God give you many blessings.

God's Grace.

Congratulations on moving into your new home. I read months ago about your ups and downs in the housing market. Thanks for stopping by my "This New Home" site a few days ago to comment. May you and your family have a blessed Christmas.

The wonderful answer to prayer is helpful in feeling content, isn't it? Perhaps too the stage of life we are in...it is not about gifts anymore, if it ever was. Relationship...with the FATHER and others is what counts. And for some of us, our relatives live miles from us...but GOD can provide friends too. I am more content than ever before too...for ever so many reasons.

Blessings...enjoy your new abode!!
