can you see the bridge?

i took this pic on the first day of spring ... i know, it doesn't look too springy yet! the snowbanks are high and the river is frozen ...

i took it from our front deck because i just realized that i can see "our" bridge from here ... the bridge that is the gateway to cottage country, where our old place is ...

it seems like another lifetime ago that i had to drive on that narrow bridge to get to town ... for mail and groceries ... and now i can WALK to do those things! *huge grin* ...

it was definitely a "letting go" of one type of lifestyle ... to enter into another type of lifestyle ... transitions ... following where God leads and watching in wonder as He opens one door after another ...

even tho' my faith has seemed small at times, it always amazes me how HE can work through that small faith and make something joyful and perfect come out of it ... perfect in the sense of "God is in it" ...

just my morning thoughts ... as well as morning praise and acknowledgement of my Heavenly Father who gives all things for us to enjoy ...

even tho' there is still snow outside my window, Psalm 65: 11-13 is what the eyes of my heart see:

You crown the year with your bounty,
and your carts overflow with abundance.
The grasslands of the desert overflow;
the hills are clothed with gladness.
The meadows are covered with flocks
and the valleys are mantled with grain;
they shout for joy and sing.

Lovely...tis good to count our blessings isn't it? Some parts of our old location I still long for...the crisp mountain air which is nonexistant here for the most part...80 degrees today, can you believe it? But I am thankful the cooler air lasted so long as it did and my daughter encouraged me today saying next week will be back to 60 amd 70 degree weather...I am looking forward to that!!

Soon the snow will give way to beautiful green grass and luscious flowers. Waiting is so worth it! Hope your day is blessed.

elizabeth ... i'm wondering if we get some lovely breezes off the water? maybe? and i'm glad that your temps will be more comfortable soon!

mrs.mac ... aww, how sweet of you to pop by, even tho' you are on slow modem! and yes, the springtime loveliness is definitely worth the wait! :o)

royal ... it is something i don't take for granted ... and your part of the world certainly holds it's share of God's handiwork ... but then again, i guess if one looks for beauty, beauty will be found ... blessings on you!

bill ... i love the 4 seasons too, though if truth be told - i could live with less extreme transitions!

j ... especially small towns ... :o) ... traffic means 3 cars instead of 2 ... *chuckle*

terry ... if you really squint, you can see the bridge at the end of the top left side of the pic ... though maybe you need to know where it is, to spot it ... it was a 15 minute drive from our old place to town, now i am a one minute walk! and i hope those were happy tears?

I'm surprised to see so much snow!Are you curious to see what's under the snow, on your property? Do you have to do your own yard work there?

We're having a very early spring here, compared to other years. There are just a few patches of icy snow to be found around town now. I worked outside for the first time this year today.

I'm glad you don't have to make that trip over "the" bridge all the time anymore! It's been such a joy to see how the Lord has been providing for you and Leo.

Spring sure looks a lot different in Texas! :) Two or three years ago, I had some bushes planted under my front window, to replace a tree that had been felled by termites. I was told the bushes would grow very quickly and become very tall -- almost treelike, themselves. Well, they didn't do any such thing, until the past few weeks. They've suddenly sprung upwards and outwards at an incredible pace. It's been fun to watch!

Your snowscape is beautiful, though, and I wish you a lovely spring thaw in the very near future!

tina ... i guess you will be in those areas yourself soon ... but you've been through so much in the past, you KNOW that God will see you through again! ((hugs))

sabine ... i am quite curious to see how many flowers the former owner planted!! and we don't have to cut the grass, but if we want to garden, we can ... our snow has been turning into dirty snowbanks and sandy sidewalks as well as full ditches - all heralding springtime! blessings on you!

catherine ... that is cool to see such rapid growth! the willows can grow like that here, like weeds! ... it was raining yesterday ... and it is supposed to rain tomorrow - so that will help get rid of the snow! :o) ... hope you've had a restful weekend!

I've been spoiled for so long, living in town, I would have to make a lot of adjustments to my thinking to live in the country. I'm glad you can see the good in both
