Happy Canada Day!

here are some scenes of our Canada Day celebrations!!!! we had some awesome fireworks last night ... we watched it from our front deck ... and i took dozens of photo's ...

and we also had a parade march by our place!!!! with candy being thrown from the quaint little floats ...

it has certainly been a wonderful celebration of being Canadian! and all happening right outside our door in small town Manitoba!

Happy Canada Day. I remember when Canada turned 100 years old in 1967. I even went to Montreal to "Expo 67" with classmates on a bus from school, and enjoyed it very much. Now I live in the States, so am hoping to go to the town parade on the 4th of July. I love seeing the Canadian Mounties in your picture of your local parade.

Happy Canada Day, Saija! Your photos bring back memories for me. We used to travel from Moose Jaw to Regina for such festivities when I was a kid. :)

What great pictures - sometimes those firework shots are hard to get, but you did a great job.
Love those red uniforms - looks like something out of a movie!
Happy Canada day!

Dear Saija,
loved to read your Canda Day report.
I did write something back about Norway, but it disappeared when I was about to paste in the adresses of three Finish poets I value highly.
You probably know them?
I thought it was interesting to find they were traslated to English.
If you like poetry they're woth reading.
My father recited many of them by heart and thus I became fond of them as well.

pat ... well thank you ... i was hoping to capture atleast one! with the digi you have to anticipate and shoot before the action happens ... or so it works for me! and the RCMP with their red jersey's was a neat " real canadian " touch ... :o)

felisol ... i love the kalevala, but i don't read much finnish poetry since it can be quite dark ... finlanders seem to have that sad, pessimistic side to them ... i do love poetry tho' but haven't had as much time to enjoy it as i would like! thank you for sharing the sights ... i'll check them out! blessings on you!

Sandy ... well aren't you full of surprises! :o) that is a neat way of sharing different blogs, tho' your blog is certainly deserving of an award! thank you for considering mine ... :o)

Sandy ... for those of us who love the Lord, there is no better place to be!!!

jeanette ... we both loved it, as we sat cuddled up to each other on the steps!

pryngfrsns ... it is jaa - pronounced ya ... and hockey is a longer word ... jaakiekko, pronounced ya-ka-co ... there are some accents over some of the letters - so they aren't totally correct in the spelling! terveisia!

Dear Saija...
It all looks so fun!
We didn't have fire works in Welland this year because of the dryness of the weather,

My most favorite part of fire works when I was a kid were the sparklers that we use to wave around...little magic wands that would light up the night.
There were so many of us children that we usally got only one each but in those days they lasted a lot longer than the ones you buy today.

Hope you and Leo had a great Canada Day...Love Terry
