just thinking outloud ...

isn't this a neat photo? it's another that i snapped along the way to the city ... the scene has a beauty to it - even though it is stark in nature ... it almost looks like a black & white painting ...

Of winter's lifeless world each tree
Now seems a perfect part;
Yet each one holds summer's secret
Deep down within its heart.
~Charles G. Stater

to me, winter portrays a life that doesn't have Christ in it ... or one who hasn't grown in the Lord ... it can be beautiful and admired, yet there will always be something missing ... when Jesus enters - spring begins and makes the soul alive with blossoms that usher in the wild and wonderful colours of summer ...

That picture really is pretty. I've often thought that winter does look black and white - good analogy to a life without Christ.

i love the stark scenes of winter. i particularly love the long shadows in this one. what time of day did you take it?

great picture Saija,
the starkness of winter is indeed like a life without Christ...it can be pretty... but it is oh sooooo bare and lonely!!
this is a great post...
How is Leo feeling? was he able to go into the city with you to visit with your family?

mari ... and winter does look so very clean too - yet there is something missing when the colours are so muted ... i think anyway ... blessings on ya!

jj ... it was around 10:30 a.m. ... we have such short days up here during the winter months ... of course, i tell myself that everyday is getting longer now - which is true!!! this pic was taken on the fly - i love to do that, then look at what i captured when i get home ... :o) ((hugs))

mimi ... leo stayed at home ... his sitting is so limited and the pain kicks into a higher gear when he can't stretch out or if he has to walk ... so we stay connected via cell phone - i even his picture on my cell, since he's usually the only i one i talk to on it ...

Winter can look so bleak and dreary and I loved how you said that it is like life without Christ!! That is so right!!
I love living down here where most days we at least have the sun.
The picture is very good!! You are a good photographer...
