we're talking weather today ...

this is where we are at ... at the moment!! it is quite cold and definitely no ice melting prematurely here in the prairies ... hoping that you all are cozy and warm, wherever you may be!

Perhaps I am a bear, or some hibernating animal underneath, for the instinct to be half asleep all winter is so strong in me.

I'm with Anne! Great quote and love the cartoon!
Bake another pie, that would make Leo happy and keep you both warm! I'll be by for a piece as soon as it's finished baking!

That carton is so funny! It is cold in Michigan and the news is telling us that a cold blast from Canada is coming on Friday, so it'll be worse. I'll think of you when it hits!

We're expecting some of that snow and sleet tonight. I am sitting here with my little heater towards me. I don't think it is supposed to last long though. You should have seen the grocery store today, Saija. You would think we were having some kind of storm. The rush is always on at the mention of snow. :)We are just not prepared for it like those up North.

We're in winter's chilly grip too. I'm glad to be snug in our well insulated home. The news tonight showed the blast(ed) cold coming straight down from the north, brrrr.
Two days ago I had most of the snow and ice off my driveway ... even washed my truck. Two hours later we had freezing rain ... then a layer of snow ... Now the driveway is as slick as an ice rink. Time to buy some ice cleats for my shoes ;)

Well, it is rather cold for Los Angeles at this point...A "SAnta Ana Wind" that's cold.....But, that's okay. It's not cold the way it is where you are, I'm happy to say....
Thanks so much for your visit and your lovely comment...!

We're pretty chilly here too with more cold and colder on the way. Hibernating sounds by a good way to face winter!

cathy ... well i hope you are warm and safe their in your home ... the wind is howling here too, except we have windchill warnings of -42C ... brrrrrr

mrs.mac ... isn't it something how the weather can change!! when i walked to work, it was absolutely a lovely winter day ... coming home it was dangerously cold!

naomi ... i heard it was cold in CA, i hope those winds subside and your usual weather returns!

Sandy ... i tell ya, on some of these extremely cold january days, i do miss those trips down south!

Deby ... and it so applies to what we are going through ... !!

tina ... hibernating is nice sometimes, especially if one has a good book and lots of chocolate!

It got cold in Austin this week, but nothing compared to your weather! We've had below-freezing temps at night and barely above freezing temps during the day this week, but we're supposed to warm up slightly next week. I'm glad -- I always worry about our homeless population (both people and animals!) when it gets so cold at night.

catherine ... the homeless in our area - i don't know how they can keep warm during the day! never mind the night ... there are shelters for them, but they say that on these brutal cold nights, they are just jammed in ...
