all creatures great and small

i was visiting a friend last week ... take a look at her "little puppy"!! his head must be 3 times the size of mine ... he was a gentle giant tho' ...
this little guy was visiting the lillies in my flower garden ... i took the photo through a window - trying to make as little sound as possible ... my camera isn't good enough to really zoom in - but i was glad for what i was able to capture ...
and here is scooter with a new friend ... as wicked as scooter can be with leo & me (yes, he STILL bites and scratches), he was ever so gentle with my cousin's daughter ... they played without incident the whole duration of their visit ...

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

Dear Saija,
you look like a little school girl
beside that Hound from Baskervillle.
No, I just say that, because I am a little frightened by big dogs, especially the ones I do not know.

Cats I love in any shape or sizes.
They are first and foremost their own. If and when they give love it's for free, not from fear or wanting to obtain anything.

I hope Scooter learns to behave. The zoo-shop might have some cat-mint. That's a plant which attracts cats. Can be rubbed against a scratchboard or anywhere Scooter is allowed to climb.

Have some nice summers days the three of you.

I am glad the puppy was a gentleman.lol

I love hummingbirds. They amaze me for some reason.

Cats are not my favorite but I have had very good ones. Hope you have a great day. Enjoyed the pictures. connie from Texas

I've never seen a puppy that large before. Scooter must have enjoyed having a friend his own 'size and age' to play with. Have a blessed week.

Is that puppie a "Newfie"? My daughter has one...they are gigantic, but so cute!! She also has two golden retreivers, she likes BIG dogs!
I love the hummingbird picture, and that little gal is so cute.
Indeed, the Lord Almighty has made all things well!

I love the picture of you, Saija. Shows how short you are ~ :o)

Isn't that something about the little kitty and the child. Maybe my wild, stray cat will be gentle with me.

Love that song ~

That is one big puppy! I can't imagine feeding him!
We are comtemplating getting another dog, as we lost ours. We are now being overrun with our neighbours cats...one or two is ok, but eight is a little much!

Awww how cute! love that puppy! Is it really a puppy? How big will it be when it is grown? Scooter is sooo cute, can you email me some more pictures of him for my mom? She loves him! And being a small cat rescue we can relate to "kittenitis"!

the newfie dog is indeed full grown ... it is larger than some bears that are out here ... i just have a thing about calling those big guys - puppies ... :o) ... i'm not sure how much he weighs, but believe it's more than me, that's for sure!

lil mntrl girl, i'll e-mail some pics tomorrow - i'm on my laptop (no pics on this one), in the bedroom with the door shut, so that i can read blogs - otherwise scooter (who is fully awake and in a mood!) would be trying to pull down wires on the big computer ...

well off to visit you all!

Catching up here...

Wonderful connection between the girl and scooter in the photo :)
Scooter sure seems like a handful... and the photo of him "sleepin" earlier - it seems as if his head is detached from his body! What a pic! :D

That 'gentle giant' is very dear...! What is it about animals....They touch your heart and your soul in such deep ways. And all unspoken---that is, Without Words---but their feelings are unmistakeable. And they know things we do not. I love that!

Thanks for your visit and your very kind words!
