setting our minds on Christ ...

God is still in control ... despite upheavel in our old world ... and hate being manifest in all kinds of ugly ways ... yet there is still beauty in the soul who makes God their place of refuge ... the God Who has always been there ...

The news reports aren't always so good but we know who wins!

That is our hope.

We have witnessed a never ending horror show / terror attacks in Bombay. Early this morning after 62 hours it finally came to anend. Now the mopping up operations will start.

At a time when we are feeling so insecure and vulnerable and aprehensive its good to remember God is in control.

So important to remember as we have been deluged with the images and carnage in India and the reminder of the very evil this world faces.

This is a blurb form SPurgeon this morning:
"He that believeth shall not make haste. (Isaiah 28:16) He shall make haste to keep the Lord's commandments; but he shall not make haste in any impatient or improper sense. He shall not haste to run away, for he shall not be overcome with the fear which causes panic. When others are flying hither and thither as if their wits had failed them, the believer shall be quiet, calm, and deliberate, and so shall be able to act wisely in the hour of trial."

Herein lies the beauty in the midst of ugliness...a woman named Charlene was filled with that beauty...joy and peace in a lengthy bout of suffering...God ran to her last night and said, "Welcome home.."

Dear Saija,
you always have a word in right time; even when the times seem meaningless.
Hope you both are doing fine this First Sunday of Advent.
