'tis the season for ... cookies!

look at the lovely homemade cookies my aunt gave me! i am just so blessed .... *smile* ... and now with my lower cholesterol readings, i can crunch away in true enjoyment - not fearing what the numbers will be!

then we received a package from my west coast sister ... there were all kinds of wrapped up gifts ... plus homemade surprises ... it made me smile ...

may the simple things in life - bless your heart today ...

I always believed that
the true spirit of Christmas
demands thought and effort
on the giver's part,
not just lavish spending.

Dear Saija,
those are called pepper cookies in Norway and are one of three I actually make.
The others being Serina cooies (yes, they are old and famous here, and rice tops. The rest I buy better than make.

I so agree that the simple hand made gifts are truly from the heart. Enjoy your cookies. I'm making candy to give today. Such fun & joy on a cold, cold, windy day.

Dear Saija
I was so happy to hear from you!
Yes, even though I was late again for tbat Jammie, I thought I had better smarten up!
I have been sorely neglecting you and her and Vicki lately so I better just smarten up and take tbe time to touch bases!
Those cookies look really good.
I have to bring cookies tonight to prayer meeting. The ladies are making up special plates for tbe elderly people in two nursing homes.
I cannot bake and I was just going to buy a couple of boxes of brownies to mix up and bake but then I thought "You should be ashamed of yourself Terry" So Bernie bought me a big bag of flour and some chocolate chips, so I am going to try my hand at baking some cookies!!
Wish me luck!
And I just hope that it doessn't spoil Christmas for those precious elderly people because they get sore bellies!
love Terry

Hey Saija...I am seeing you all over the place today! Guess you don't want to play in the snow,eh?
I always did think that the snow in my most beloved Manitoba wasn't snowman or snowball quality!
All it ever did was blow into our faces and give us frost bite!
To top it all off, Mom Golden used to make us stay outside, no doubt so she could have a little peace and quiet, eh?
On my way out the door...Love Terry

Enjoy every sweet bite!

Pepparkakor? Those like the cookies my mother-in-law bakes, except she doesn't ice hers.

Thank you Saija for the Christmas card...how special it is..just like you! *hugs* =).... Your cookies do look good. I like crunchy things. Well, I'd better get back to decorating...I'm more than half done. Your midnight madness shopping sounds like it was fun. To be out in the crisp air...looking around with someone you love. Nice! =) We are off to do a little more shopping when hubby gets home. I've strict orders to be ready. Imagine! me...late? I do get to talking to much telling him about my day...and lose track of the time. Merry Christmas my friend.
