hospital reunion ...

it was a good reunion with the siblings ... very quick ... very short ... maybe meloncholy/sad at times ... yet it was nice to see everyone in one spot ... even for a short visit ...

the highlight was maria ... of course ...

we all went into the dialysis ward ... and cheered her along ...

i think as the day progressed, maria became more and more animated (tho' i'm sure we pooped her out!) ... and grinned through her obvious discomfort ...

i even had a chance for a little one on one with her ... while the others went for a bite, i stayed to feed maria her lunch ... and chat a bit ... fetch whatever she needed/wanted ... read some scripture to her ... it felt sweet to me ... it would be wonderful if she were closer - so that the visits wouldn't be so long inbetween ... but life is like that, isn't it ...

i'm just feeling thankful tonight ... and happy to be home here in our little town and condo central ... thank you Lord!

What a blessing to get to spend some time with your sister, and to have a little one on one time. That had to be very special.

I'll bet it's a relief to be home, safe and sound, but to also feel like you accomplished a lot -- seeing your sisters, including cheering up Maria.

I'm so glad everything went well. And Leo was fine, huh? :)

What a great encouragement that must have been to Maria to be surrounded by her family. It sounds like the Lord worked that one on one time out too. Those are such heart-achy times when someone we love is ailing and there's so very little or nothing we can really do for them. ~~Here on our homefront...smile, we are I think going to go for a quick visit to my sister's IF she's home and its a good time with her. I downloaded a book she loves yesterday...on audio cds..and can't wait to get it to her to listen too. *hugs* I'm glad you are safely home again ....

Dear Saija,
My thoughts and prayers are with you, Leo, Maria, your siblings and your Mom.
The realist in me says that nothing is impossible to God.
So I pray, "your will be done, but please heal Maria and Leo."

Oh, Sweetie, I'm so glad you all got to visit with her. I know she loved having you there. And it is good you are already back home.

Saija,
2 summers ago, the doctor gave my Dad a sombre diagnosis--basically, go home and pray. All of my siblings, from England, Orlando, and here in Canada came together for one short weekend. While it was so sweet to be 'together' after such a long while, it was extremely painful as well--the brevity of the moments, wanting to stretch the time, watching the life changes on all our faces, knowing the great physical distance that separates us--but I am grateful for that one weekend..

By the way, my Dad is still up and running, though far away...and I still yearn for a time when we can be all together...and not for a memorial service...that's up to my Creator...

Father, You know what Saija..Maria...and the rest of the siblings are going through..You know the depths of their emotions...You know, You care...please grant them all that they need, physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially...Now to You, O God, Who is able to do so much more than we can ever imagine or ask for, to You, O God, be the glory forever and ever, Amen.
