on the lighter side

happy birthday to me ... i am now officially 55 ... *smile*

my westcoast sister sent me the above card ... the caption says "What you eat standing up doesn't count." ... good to know, as i am ordering chinese food today ... yum! ... i've already indulged in some date squares ... i love birthday treats ... !

and at this grand "old" age, i can truly say "i love Jesus, my Saviour more and more ... He has blessed me above measure ... "

~~~~ thank you for this birthday, Lord ~~~~~
happy birthday and thanks for sharing such a spiritual, personal blog. I'm 59, live in New Jersey, and invite you to visit my blog at www.margaretpanpipes.blogspot.com. ps: My favorite prayer is St. Francis's peace prayer (make me an insrtument of your peace . . . many non-Catholics are not so familiar with it.)
His peace, Margaret
Happy BD. I only have about 1 month left to be 55. It was so much fun to say I am 'Double Nickels' when some one asked me my name.
Happy Birthday, Saija! Birthdays are such special markers in the sand and there is something particularly notable about the even fives and tens!
(I do follow your blog through bloglines even though I don't come over often to comment). I would have loved to have been a part of the telephone sing-a-long with your sister!)
Happiest and sweetest of birthdays to you.
Mmmmm, date bars. My dad had a wonderful recipe, one he adapted from a cookbook of my mom. But she threw it out and I wish I could find it somewhere. I just remember how "stiff" the stuff was that my dad stirred. It made him look as strong as superman. Ok, that's a loving daughter's impression. ")
Happy belated b/d Saija! I read about Leo's mom, please give him my condolences.
Waiting for spring to arrive and out in the yard is getting harder to do each day. We still have lots of snow. But I'm going to plant my tomato seeds tonight indoors to get a head start.
