a new tv ... :o)

leo and i broke down and bought a new tv last month ... one of those fancy HD LCD ones ... a sony ... yup - it's nice! so much lighter than our 160 pound toshiba, that we have had for many years ... i just love the thought of being able to move furniture without calling in the muscle!!!

one problem though - the tv has this feature that makes it go dark automatically during certain scenes ... i mean really dark! ... so i phoned sony's help desk to see how we could shut this feature off ... it turns out that it is a glitch in this particular model of tv ... so the tech guy made up a "fix" for us and is mailing it to us ... we plug the "fix" in (the sony has outlets like a computer) which then allows it to "talk" to the tv and fix the problem ... sure beats the old repair guy way of doing things!

wouldn't it be nice if this worked in our spiritual lives too? ... we see a problem in our behaviour or lifestyle - God sends a fix ... we plug it into our hearts and it solves the problem for the rest of our earthly sojourn ... that would be a hallelujah moment for me ... *huge grin* ... unfortunately i need many fixes for the same problem, applied in different ways - before i am on the winning side ...

as far as eternity goes - Jesus IS the forever fixer of our hearts - no more touch-ups required!

sending a shout out to my american buds ... happy 4th of july!!!!

Sounds like a great tv. I like your idea of fixes for us. I don't think I have enough outlets though!
Thanks for the greetings!

Congrat's on the new TV. My husband would like one of the new ones, but our old one (bought in 1996) is working just fine. The spiritual fixes you mention sound like a great idea. Blessings to you and your hubby.

enjoy your new TV you deserve it...and let me know how this magic fix works...it may put all the repair men out of business...
and in order to receive the spiritual fixes we do have to stay plugged in all the time so God can recharge us...

I really like your comparison
have a great week end...

Well, congrats on your new TV. After all these years, you surely deserve it. The "fix" thing you mentioned on your blog is something they do at Toyota for cars as well, it's really neat. And I believe God's done it for us, too, if we believe in Him and rely on Him... all we need is to plug in to His heart... He said "Call out to me and I will answer and show you the unsearchable and unfathomable things of my heart!

Isn't it awesome?

Lovely flowers, too!

My TV is about 12 years ols and works quite efficiently although I 've had it repaired a number of times.
The LCDs are very expensive. But would love to have one.

Enjoy your new telly.

Where have I been? Just reading your "profile", I believe that we may be "kindred spirits" (which we are in Christ, for sure)! The Albert Schweitzer quote a few posts ago is inspiriting and reassuring....I shall return after church and spend some time "with you" this afternoon. Meanwhile, may God's peace and presence accompany you this Lord's Day.

New TV sounds great... but like you said new techy things often mean new problems.
That is so crazy that they can fix it with a plug in... (o:
I guess we as christians have a 'plug in'. The Holy spirit is there... we often ignore the fix he is telling us about. (o:

Amen, Jesus fixes it all! Not just for now but forever. I like the very thought. How nice (and fun) you got the latest in tv's. We enjoy ours...though the picture is smaller than I thought it would be..the quality is soooo much nicer. No kidding, you can plug in the 'solution'...thats amazing isn't it. I know exactly what you mean about moving these new lightweight ones around. Its great! We have a '2 man' one downstairs that might give someone a hernia someday, for real. For the 4th of July, a young couple in our church invited the church to a pig roast. We went and it was very nice...tons of food & good fellowship but CHILLY outside. Then later that evening we were off to the city to watch the fireworks by the river. We were right across from the barge where they put them off and as they exploded in the sky right above were we sat (some of them)on the banks of the river. I was afraid we might get burned from the falling fragments. (I kept praying...Lord please let them dissolve into nothing on the way down here!)There were thousands of folks to see the fireworks and they were gorgeous. I like it because there are so many families with their children there you feel like it is a safe community of people, in spite of the large numbers. Sorry to talk you leg off...grin. *hugs*

Dear Saja,
congratulations on your new telli.
I love the idea of a personal fix in my life.
Looking back I can see how God has stood by all the time.
Job 35:
14 Although you say you do not see Him,
Yet justice is before Him, and you must wait for Him.

We only get to understand our lives backwards, yet we know he is there, all the time.
My best to Leo.
