company ...

my mother, who lives 2 hours away ... and my aunt, who lives 2 minutes away, came to visit yesterday ... they are 2 very important women in my life ... it was wonderful to have them BOTH here ... even our timid feline stayed close to them ... purring, reclining near their feet, generally being a nuisance ... usually he hides somewhere when company comes - not this time!

after my mom checked out our new rental digs (she hadn't seen the house yet) ... we headed back to my aunt's place where there was some yummy grub to chow down on ...

during the visit, i quietly observed these 2 women who i love so much ... i noted the physical aging that is slowing them both down ... and i remembered times of laughter and teasing in days long ago ...

i am truly thankful that both of them are women of faith ...

it was a sweet day of visiting ... thank you Lord!

What a precious time... you are so blessed to have your Mother and Aunt still here to enjoy fellowship with. I only have 1 Aunt still living on my Mums side and she is very up in years and still cooks and cleans. I always enjoy seeing her when I can. Isn't that something about your cat...she must have felt the 'vibes' of such special women together. I love the way a cat is sensitive....well, sometimes...=)

What a fortunate lady you are to have these women still near enough by to see often!! You will find that no one will ever take their place with you!! Enjoy every speck of time you can afford with them!!

Sounds like a great visit. My sisters (who live in NY) come down once a year to Florida to visit with us. I love it when they're here.

Hi Sweet Saija, I hope you're doing wonderfully well. I'm a tad envious of your wonderful relationship with your mother, but so glad you have it. You are blessed. These are memories to cherish.
Regards to Leo. How is he doing?

mindy ... wow, you must have kept your mom young! my mom had me at 18 ... but 2 of my sisters could be my children - mom had them later in life too ...

saija ... hello! and you live in one of my favourite cities too, Tampere! it is such a lovely place - filled with history and tradition - blessings to you ...

Diane ... i loved that quote too ... it so applies to my life ... :o)

susie ... well thanks for popping by and saying hi ... :o) ... (hugs)

fred ... yes, life gets busy and it's sad when we can't get together with loved ones ... i haven't seen my brother for almost 2 years and he only lives 8 hours away! sheesh, eh!

rita ... hey there! you must have sneaked in while i was tap tapping away there ... ! leo is doing "good", he likes this rental stuff - nothing for him to do but BE ... and yes, it is nice to have a good relationship with my mom - it wasn't always like that, there was anger in my heart toward her at one stage in my life ... but there were lessons for me to learn and maturity to develop within my own life ... so things are sweeter now ... blessings on your weekend!

Sweetie and I look at pictures of our parents and aunts and uncles that are already passed on and wonder... "Wonder what they are doing right now?" And we sit and wish they could join us for dinner and other things... It is so good to enjoy them now while they are here. Such a warm lovely post Saija. Blessings on you and Leo.
