Leo's sister died unexpectantly yesterday, July 9th ...

it was massive heart failure ... she was 59 ...

we have yet to hear about the funeral arrangements ... she lived a good 3 days drive from here.

my verse for times like these is:

"weeping may endure for the night, but joy cometh in the morning" ...

My condolences to you and Leo, Saija. It must be extra hard for both of you, living so far away from where Leo's sister lived. You'll both be in my prayers today.

I want to express my sympathy to you both Saija and Leo on this sudden unexpected death of Leo's sister. I pray that you may receive a special measure of God's comfort during this difficult time. I know it is difficult for Leo to travel to the funeral and want to let him know that he is in my thoughts and prayers.

sabine ... yes the distance makes it difficult ... we have decided not to go ... leo would be so wiped out by the time we got there ... thank you for your support!

ginger ... the Word gives so much comfort doesn't it? tonight i'm too tired to do anything but the basics, but i found that during the day i was remembering verses that lifted my spirits ... thank you for your words ...

debra ... thank you ... your prayer is really appreciated! especially for the family that lucille leaves behind ... she really was the heart of their home ...

osray ... amen - God is indeed the only help ... thank you!

elizabeth ... i appreciate that, thank you...

Nellie ... all prayer is really appreciated, thank you ... and yes, it would have indeed been extremely difficult for leo to go to the funeral ... there would be no resting there, so we have decided not to go ... we still feel badly about that ...

michael ... thank you ... our consolation was that she felt no pain and just slept away ... isn't that the sweetest way to pass on?

sandy ... we appreciate that, thank you ... it is always sad to say goodbye ...

maggie ann ... (hugs) back ... thank you for your prayer support!

rick ... thank you for that reminder ... leo is really feeling the loss of his big sis ...

catherine ... you just went through this with your uncle, and he was young too ... it was so unexpected for us - totally out of the blue - she was there one day and the next, gone ... thank you for your support ...

Saija and Leo: I'm saddened to read about Leo's sister's passing. It happened on my 61st birthday. I'll always be able to remember the day. Be assured of my prayers during this difficult time. I'm sorry that it's too long a drive to make. May you know God's wonderful peace during these days.

Thanks for being such good friends,

David

David ... thank you for the prayer support and kind words ... even though we have known other sudden and tragic deaths, each one hits home in a different way ... and this is the first time either one of us has lost a sibling ... very odd, mixed emotions ... blessings to you and belated b-day wishes too!

Dear Saija..I was going to make other comments on your blog but when I read this it makes me feel so sad so "other comments" can wait for another time.
I am sorry that I really don't know a lot about the situation but I am going to read your blog more completly so that I will have the privelige of knowing Leo's siser a little through your writings.
My heart is with you both... Love Terry

jeanette ... thank you, me too ...

terry ... i haven't blogged much about leo's family ... they are "good" folk, yet whether they know the Lord or not is something that they haven't shared with us ... and in the past, spiritual talk has become more of an argument, and that shouldn't be ... so we have tried to share our faith without antagonizing them ... at the time of her death, lucille and leo were the closest, so it has been doubly sad for leo ...

tina ... thank you ... your care is appreciated!
