is it just me, or does life seem to be getting more and more stormy these days?
have you read the headlines? watched the images on the evening news? do you shake your head and wonder where in the world will all this end?
it seems the stormier life gets, the more i cling to my faith in Christ ... the more comfort i find in scripture ... the more peace God gives to my soul ...
do you have a shelter in times of storm?
"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
John 14: 1-3

Yes, the world picture is growing increasingly troubling to put it mildly. We do have a shelter in Jesus and how secure it is to dwell 'under his wings' by faith. How blessed I am to have you for a sister in Christ...your faith blesses my heart over and over again. *hugs* Thanks for your sweet comments at knitting kat...my cup overfloweth when I stop and count my many blessings.
It's not your imagination. I'm watching the news right now, and it all seems so bad.
Your preception is correct...this last week has not been easy for anyone we know of...seems the adversary is SO at work...incredibly so!! Gotta hang onto the LORD for this ride, gonna get more bumpy I think...but we know the end of the story...or if not, we can read it for ourselves...so we know the ending is fabulous!!! Our KING is coming and this time HE WILL STAY FOREVER!!!
Dear Saija.. It does seem that life is getting stormier and stormier each day.
I find that there are many inward storms in my life. Feelings of sadness and despair sometimes. It is hard to overcome.
The world is in such a sad position and there just doesn't seem there is anything we can do to stop their tears.
I wonder if it is because I am getting older.
This verse is so often used at funerals but I really feel we need it in everday life Saija..
Thanks so much... Love Terry
The Christians that I know, have all been under extreme attack as of late, myself included, but as this happens we can take comfort in the fact that we are not alone and how we need each other to encourage, and hold each others hands uplifted when we grow weary of the fight. I am so fortunate to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, for he is my rock and my foundation!! I do not know how others are living with out him.....Thank you for such a beautiful post and being a yielded vessel for the Lord to use!! Blessings...xo
Saija: I have the same shelter that you have...Our almighty God. I wonder what people do that do not have God as their shelter..Yes, I do think that things are getting worse and doesn't the bible say that they will get worse? I just try not to focus on things. I live my life for God and my family and just keep going on. You have had a lot happen lately and that might be why you feel as you do also. Take care...
maggie ann ... i go to your blog to read about the faithfulness of your walk ... i get comfort from your scriptural views on life ... to share ones faith is the greatest honour, isn't it ... (hugs)
fred ... i've got the news on now too ... wars, quakes, wild weather, tsunami's ... ? ... i think i'll go make some tea and decompress!
elizabeth ... even today i was praying "even so, come Lord Jesus, come ... " ... not that i want to hasten the day for those who aren't in the fold yet, but i just want to live be rid of my own sinful nature - once and for all!
terry ... maybe we do feel more pessimistic because we are older ... we've seen the wars and man's cruelty to man for decades and there seems to be no end of it ... the world is not gentle, is it?
mindy ... i don't know who anyone can survive without faith in Christ ... He keeps us going when we stumble and gives us peace amidst chaos ... truly He is a comfort!
sandy ... i probably am more sensitive to worldy troubles because my life of late ... you're right about that ... yet, maybe i was just busy being in my own bubble and didn't see things before? hmmm, maybe a bit of both, eh!
Great post Saija. I feel the same way.
osray ... i see many of us feel the same way ... that something big is going to happen - soon!
