Reach out to Jesus

this old hymn came to mind this morning ... just sharing it ... i don't know who wrote it, but it sure is comforting ...

Reach out to Jesus

Is your burden heavy as you bear it all alone?
Does the road you travel harbour danger yet unknown?
Are you growing weary in the struggle of it all?
Jesus will help you when on His name you call.

Refrain

He is always there hearing every prayer, faithful and true.
Walking by our side in His love we hide all the day through.
When you get discouraged just remember what to do,
Reach out to Jesus He's reaching out to you.

Is the life you're living filled with sorrow and despair?
Does the future press you with it's worry and it's care?
Are you tired and friendless, have you almost lost your way?
Jesus will help you, just come to Him today.

This will be a nice tune to have rolling around my head. We sang it often when I traveled with the groups when in college. Makes it a doubly nice memory!

Thanks for stopping by tonight!! I am so happy that wrinkles do not hurt but yes you are right they do sneak up on you when you are not looking!! Other things sneak up too when you are not looking ((smile)). I hope you are enjoying retirement!! I love being at home. I just keep hoping that I can stay. I love your hymn today. What wonderful words..Sandy

Sometimes the words to great songs are just what we need...God gifted those writers with words that never fail to minister. Thanks for the reminder of a great hymn!

I don't know who wrote this either, but I think the first person I heard sing it was probably Mary Jayne...she used to come to our church in California and do concerts or sing at revivals, every so often. She lived not too far away from there.
It is a comforting song. Blessings on you and yours!

Good Morning Saija! I've been busy cleaning house and working with my fleece/spinning. Just what I needed, another hobby, but how I love it. Its SUCH a pleasure to handle the fleece and spin it into yarn. I've got a cello lesson today so you know what I'll be doing, some last minute practising. I'm not familiar with this hymn...but I love the message of it.

Dear Saija...Elvis Presley used to sing this song.
I think he felt sad a lot of the time.
Jake Hess really believed that Elvis was saved as a youngster.
I just think that he tried to serve two masters in this world and you can't do that and be happy.
Jake Hess sang at Elvis's wedding and he sang at his funeral.
Anyways if he had Jake as a friend , then he surely heard the gospel!!
I am hoping that when Jake went to heaven, Elvis was there to thank him.
This is such a good song Saija!..Love Terry

terry ... which brings up a good point - if someone accepts Jesus, then walks away - i believe they walk away from joy and peace too ...

Yes Saija, that is true but one thing is sure, they can't walk away from being saved.
Once a person is a child of God, He will never let him go no matter what!
Sometime in kindness, He will just take them home.
Whar a blessed thought this is that He loves us SO much!
Oh! We don't deserve it!...Love Terry
