today's picture

as you can see, i still haven't touched my "to do" list! *grin*
.... photo taken by leo ...

The kiss of the sun for pardon,
The song of the birds for mirth,
One is nearer God's heart in a garden
Than anywhere else on earth.

That's what I do too, during my retirement days, Saija. Leo made a great picture of his pretty wife. I really look forward to your lovely pictures everyday.

jb ... why thank you ... i was certainly surprised by the size of the peonies - there must be over 50 blooms on this one bush!

cathy ... that is sweet of you to say that ... if you go into my archives, you'll see other pics of the flowers we had in our rental last year - and in the 2005 archives, our cottage pics ... life has been ever-changing this past while! :o)

mtsmac ... wellllllll ... i'm taking this summer off - then in the fall i will re-evaluate ... my prayer has been ongoing ... i've just taken the first step, which is leaving my wonderful little job in the park - i don't know what the next step will be!!!! but since God does - i will just rest secure & ride my bike while the sun shines!

Dear Saija,
Terve! Can you teach me more Finnish than that? I love cooking Finnish food. Kesakeitto is one of my favorites.
Oh and the flowers are so pretty!!!
I love flowers, roses in partcular. My grandpa loved roses and had a lot of them in his garden. I have two rose bushes in my garden, planted in memory of some who are in heaven...(I'll explain later) next year I'll put another one in I think.

You and your peonies are gorgeous. The poem you posted was one I had not read or heard in many years. I think it's one my g'mother used to recite. My memory does NOT serve me well these days. ;) All I know is that it brought a feeling back to me. Isn't that strange?

Sandy ... *laughing*, how can one be too cute? *chuckling more* ... i passed along your kuddos to leo ... i always think that we look our best when the photographer is one we love ...

rita ... i wish i could send some peonies to my blog buds - they are just gorgeous this year!! ... and i'm glad i could help bring back a forgotten memory for you ... funny how that happens, isn't it?
