I figure Paul was saying that no matter how tough things get, that we should never turn away from God.
This is all something very new to me. I have blamed everyone, but recently got in touch with the local church and everyone there has helped me in all sorts of ways.
This is a hard thing - it seems easier to serve God in good times, although it is also easy to get complacent during those times. People in 3rd world countries often put us to shame in the way they serve with so little.
Gavin ... i am so glad that you are turning to the Only One who really understands you and the pain that you are in daily ... i know that if leo and i didn't each have a personal faith in Jesus, this chronic pain walk would be impossible ... with Christ, it is doable - not easy - but there can still be joy within ... blessings on ya! (oh, i looked at that 1992 olympic site - that is cool that you got to participate!)
mari ... i like your pic ... :o) ... i agree with you that we can get complacent in the good times - i think it's really through the fire & flood where we find our sure footing in the Lord ...
Amen...the chronic pain..you are so right..the insomnia...the lonliness on a daily basis....I knwo all of this...and I pray that I do and will serve God through all the ups and downs it is part of Romans 8:28 to me... Deby with Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue(FYI)
To reach a place in our lives when the bad times make us serve God even harder is a blessing in and of itself. So much power in that short verse. Thanks!
Deby ... that fibromyalgia is a wicked thing - :o( ... but one day, in heaven, all the pain will be in the past ... and during our sojourn here, God does daily provide the strenght! blessings on you!
pat ... it was a different translation of that verse and i thought it was encouraging ... :o)
cathy ... those were flowers that my brother and brought for my aunt, i thought they were so pretty that i snapped a close-up, then thought i would do a verse ... i like that kind of thing!
